WTF Friday 4.0

Hold onto your hats kids, it’s time for …

WTF Friday! Yaaaay!

Today I’m WTF-ing over Kyle and his ridiculous kidneys. This past week he has been home in horrendous pain with kidney stones. Yeow! The killer part? This is the 5th time he’s had them bad enough where he’s had to miss work. FIVE!!! WTF???

I had to take him to the hospital Sunday evening and he was hooked up to an IV with shots of morphine and Gravol for about 4 hours until he felt good enough to get home. Then he was prescribed some wicked painkillers and some stuff to help him pee better. Then, the next day, he still felt horrible, so he went back to the hospital for his scheduled ultrasound (to see how big the stones were) and then checked himself back into emergency. A CT Scan and more bloodwork later, he was prescribed more pills and drugs. WTF?

So, I present to you, my at-home pharmacy, courtesy of my darling:

And the other WTF? The rules that go along with them: (From left to right!)

#1 – Take with plenty of water; Do not take dairy products, antacids or iron preparations with 1 hour; Avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to [real or artificial] sunlight.
#2 – May cause drowsiness or dizziness; (On the hand-out) May cause constipation; Avoid operating heavy machinery or driving.
#3 – Take with Food!
#4 – Take with Food!; Don’t use acetaminophen or ibuprofen;

Basically, Kyle is restricted to sitting on the couch, drinking water (he’s not allowed to have juice says the urologist) and eating dry toast. W.T.F.

We had a good chuckle about it the other night, but I hope he gets better soon. I become a little lost when he’s out of it. The sad thing is that he has several more forming in both of his kidneys, not normal for someone his age. :( WTF.

Well, that’s it! Happy Friday everyone! :)

The B Word

Kyle and I have been really antsy lately trying to save up enough money for a down payment for a house. We’re so close but because I’m not working full-time and Kyle’s work has been on/off. We actually had a really great conversation with his aunt and uncle about buying houses and such the other day and they always have great advice and information for us, more than our own parents.

After Kyle and I left their place, Kyle asked me in how many years I’d like to start having babies. BABIES. He’s been so apprehensive about having kids and to have him ask me really made my day. He asked me because of the fact that our first house would ideally  be the place where we start our family.

Anyway, I’m glad that Kyle has warmed up to the idea of having kids. He didn’t want to for the longest time, mostly because he was afraid of being like his father. Hearing him say the B word really made my day. And the fact that he didn’t sound nervous when I told him I’d like to start having kids in three years was even more assuring.

Did/do you have a “x-year plan” for kids? Did it follow through as planned? And are all guys apprehensive about having kids?

Victoria Day Vlog

At first I thought about just taking a day off of blogging because today is a holiday here in Canada, but then I thought I’d try my hand at my very first vlog! Oh the humanity!

As I may or may not have mentioned in the past, I have the ugliest furniture known to mankind. It’s so fugly but I can’t get rid of it because it’s Kyle’s mom’s. Yay to having a place to live, boo to not being able to use my own furniture.

Kyle and I actually have out own couch and chair in the basement, but we’ve never bothered to bring it upstairs because we were afraid of Kyle’s cat (when it was alive) getting hair all over it. (I’m somewhat allergic)

Anyway, I present to you my very first vlog!

Hope you enjoyed the delightful insight into my humble abode! I hope all my Canadian readers had an awesome May Long Weekend and that my US readers have a good one coming up! :)

Do YOU have a piece of furniture that you’re ashamed to show?
