Ten on Tuesday

1. Who is your favourite talk show host?
I’m not so sure that I have one. I don’t watch a lot of daytime television, so I don’t have a favourite daytime talks show host. I do enjoy watching Craig Ferguson though, but he’s on at night.

2. How do you style your hair on a daily basis?
Usually I just blow-dry it. Sometimes if I’m feeling really rushed I’ll throw it in a ponytail. I’m boring that way!

3. If you were stuck in your bedroom for a week, what would you need in order to not go crazy?
A couple books maybe? We have a TV in our room, so I think between that and a couple books I’d survive a week!

4. What are the best non-reality shows on television?
Right now the non-reality shows I’m watching are: Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Big Bang Theory, Justified, and Glee. I also watch The Walking Dead and Rookie Blue when they’re “in season”.

5. Do you mow your own lawn and clean your own house?
I don’t mow the lawn! I think I’ve maybe done it once in my life? It’s Kyle’s chore, lol. I do clean my own house though, I can’t justify paying someone to clean it just yet.

6. As an adult, what is the best part of summer?
Barbecuing! I love barbecuing because there’s no messy pots or pans to clean up afterwards.

7. If you could ask one celebrity one question, who and what would you ask?
This seems to be a question that pops up a lot and really, I have no idea who and what I would ask! It’s tough to pick just ONE celebrity and then find the right question to ask!

8. Post a picture.

Me before heading out to a wedding on the weekend!

9. How many books do you read a year?
I’ve never actually kept track of how many books I’m read in a year. Maybe I should start? I’d say about a dozen or so.

10. Which national chain makes the best delivery pizza?
We recently got a Papa John’s in Kamloops and their pizza is AMAZING. I think it’s the sauce? Regardless, right now they’re my favourite.

33 Weeks and a Birthday Message

Dear Baby,

Today is my birthday, and soon, you’ll have one too. I don’t care what day you choose to have your birthday on, just as long as you’re ready to meet the world. I will admit to you that if you’re a couple days early and arrive on your uncle’s birthday, I would be pretty amused.

I promise to you that on your birthday on this, all of your needs, wants and desires will be granted. Except for if you want a cat. Mommy is allergic, so unfortunately that’s just not posible. Nor is a pony. Mommy is afraid of those. But I promise you that you’ll always be fed, clothed and loved by me and your Daddy. I hope that having you when I’m 26-years-old gives me enough life experience to raise you to be an amazing human being.

Even though today is suppose to be “my” day, I just can’t stop thinking of you. How is it that in 7 weeks (if you’re right on time) we’ll finally meet? It seems like just yesterday your Daddy and I learned that you would be coming along. Oh how time flies, and I’m sure it’s not going to slow down anytime soon. I just hope I can keep up with you!

So Happy Birthday to me, and soon, Happy Birthday to you.

How far along? 33 weeks!

How big is baby? About 4.2lbs and 17″ long from head to toe, according to BabyCentre.ca.

Total weight gain/loss: About 2lbs I think. Eek!

Maternity Clothes? I’m still wearing the same ol’ stuff! I believe my mom is going to take me shopping for my birthday, so I’ll finally be able to pick up some (more) new clothes. It seems like it never ends!!

Stretch marks? Still none, which leads me to believe that if they haven’t happened by now, they’re not happening at all. (Although my fingers are still crossed and I’m knocking on wood!)

Sleep: Ugh. I’m sooooo uncomfortable these days. My hips are starting to ache all the time, and most nights I’m still waking up sweating to death. Also – it seems that no matter what I do, I’m now waking up in the middle of the night with wicked heartburn. Not fair.

Movement: Still lots! She’s a little motor machine in there, and sometimes she hits me in just the right spot where it hurts like hell!

Food cravings: Nothing too crazy lately.

What I miss: A good night’s sleep. I’m pretty sure I’ve said this for the majority of my pregnancy, but seriously. I MISS GOOD SLEEP! And it’s only going to get worse :(

What I am looking forward to: Some form of solid, non-sweaty, non-achy sleep. Preferably laying flat on my stomach. That is all.

Milestones: I did my very first bit of baby clothes shopping online the other day on Carters.com. I’m pretty excited for everything to arrive!

Listy Friday

Hello Friday! I’d say that I’ve been looking forward to you, but since I’ve been enjoying a “staycation” this week, you’re just another day off!

I’ve been keeping pretty busy, so I’m going to throw together a list of randomness …

– Tomorrow Kyle and I are going to a wedding. A good work friend/carpool mate of his is getting married and we were lucky enough to be invited. We’re both really looking forward to it!

– For this wedding, I have to take Kyle shopping for a new dress shirt/tie combo. I’m hoping to be able to find him a couple shirts and ties since we’re also going to a wedding in August as well that requires semi-formal/cocktail wear.

– I can’t believe my week of being off work is almost over! I think I should get three extra days off since they called me three times to ask me work-related questions.

– Kyle and I went golfing on Wednesday and I actually did pretty well all things considered! I definitely couldn’t have walked the 9-hole course, but with the power cart it wasn’t bad. I didn’t start to really feel it until afterwards, and then by the end of the night I could barely move my hips. Perhaps I was swinging my golf clubs a little too aggressively, who knows. I did get a lot of odd looks from people who noticed that a pregnant woman was golfing, lol

– Kyle and I also went and watched a movie Wednesday night, which was nice. We’ve really been trying to get a lot of “date nights” in since we soon won’t have as much time to ourselves anymore. We watched Safe starring Jason Statham (swoon!) and it was good! It wasn’t “OMG AMAZING” good, but it was a decent action-packed movie.

– ANNNNND on Wednesday the glider and ottoman that Kyle and ordered for me/the baby’s room arrived at Sears! We went and picked it up after we were finished golfing and it’s sooo amazing! I can’t want to rock in it with the baby :) I got Kyle to spray it with fabric protector so it wouldn’t stain as easily too. I figured it would be a smart thing to do!

– I currently have a homemade apple pie sitting on my counter and I really want a slice, with some vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, I have run out of ice cream and have no desire to put a bra on and go buy any. This is an problem.

– I think that’s about it. Apparently I’m not that exciting after all.

– Kyle just went out and got me ice cream for my pie. Best husband ever? I think so :)

– Oh, May the Fourth be with you ;)

How was your week? What are you weekend plans?
