Listy Friday

I feel that I’ve totally dropped the ball on blogging plately. Oh well. Today, you get a list:

– My dogs are driving me crazy. Between Campbell not wanting to listen to me, and Daphne being a crotchety old bag, they’re going to put me into early labour.

– The local TV station hosts an online auction twice a year, and the one that just ended had four newborn photography packages by a super awesome photog here in town. Unfortunately, I didn’t win any of the packages. So – I’m going to do my own newborn photography when Baby arrives! It should be interesting to see how this goes, but I think if I practise a little bit, it should work out okay! I’m starting to look into buying a few props to get myself started; even if I spend $100 on props, it’ll still be cheaper than hiring someone to take photos.

– I am guessing that Baby is going to be early – my goal is 1 week – because of all the Braxton Hicks contractions I’ve been having for ever. It’s HORRID.

– There was a hostage situation in Kamloops last night that sadly ended with the house going up in flames and the suspect dying inside the blaze. Fortunately, the hostage herself made it out, as well as her children. The crazy thing is that it happened in a good neighbourhood. What on earth is the world coming to?

– Before my Grandma passed away, my Grandpa had given me her laptop to “clean out” and help him close some of her online accounts. I’ve now inherited the laptop since mine was/is starting to go. I found our old Microsoft Office 2003(!!) disc and installed it onto the laptop, but do you think it would open my 2007 Office documents? Noooooo! So annoying. Now I’m going to probably have to cough up the money to get a newer version of Office. Drats.

– However, to offset the cost of buying Office, I did trade in some of my rewards points from my credit card to get a $100 gift card to an electronic store. I may just have to go use that this weekend. Doing my freelance work is a pain in the ass when I have to bust out the old, cranky laptop to do my work.

– This weekend is also a long weekend here! My plans? Do nothing!! Yaaay, I’m awesome. But really, I’m going to enjoy having Monday off work next week.

– As much as the dogs do drive me crazy, it’s times like when Campbell gets himself stuck under our spare bed that makes me love his goofballness and I forgive him for the headaches. Really, he’s priceless.

Hope you have a happy long weekend! (If you’re lucky enough to have one, that is!)

Listy Friday

Hello Friday! I’d say that I’ve been looking forward to you, but since I’ve been enjoying a “staycation” this week, you’re just another day off!

I’ve been keeping pretty busy, so I’m going to throw together a list of randomness …

– Tomorrow Kyle and I are going to a wedding. A good work friend/carpool mate of his is getting married and we were lucky enough to be invited. We’re both really looking forward to it!

– For this wedding, I have to take Kyle shopping for a new dress shirt/tie combo. I’m hoping to be able to find him a couple shirts and ties since we’re also going to a wedding in August as well that requires semi-formal/cocktail wear.

– I can’t believe my week of being off work is almost over! I think I should get three extra days off since they called me three times to ask me work-related questions.

– Kyle and I went golfing on Wednesday and I actually did pretty well all things considered! I definitely couldn’t have walked the 9-hole course, but with the power cart it wasn’t bad. I didn’t start to really feel it until afterwards, and then by the end of the night I could barely move my hips. Perhaps I was swinging my golf clubs a little too aggressively, who knows. I did get a lot of odd looks from people who noticed that a pregnant woman was golfing, lol

– Kyle and I also went and watched a movie Wednesday night, which was nice. We’ve really been trying to get a lot of “date nights” in since we soon won’t have as much time to ourselves anymore. We watched Safe starring Jason Statham (swoon!) and it was good! It wasn’t “OMG AMAZING” good, but it was a decent action-packed movie.

– ANNNNND on Wednesday the glider and ottoman that Kyle and ordered for me/the baby’s room arrived at Sears! We went and picked it up after we were finished golfing and it’s sooo amazing! I can’t want to rock in it with the baby :) I got Kyle to spray it with fabric protector so it wouldn’t stain as easily too. I figured it would be a smart thing to do!

– I currently have a homemade apple pie sitting on my counter and I really want a slice, with some vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, I have run out of ice cream and have no desire to put a bra on and go buy any. This is an problem.

– I think that’s about it. Apparently I’m not that exciting after all.

– Kyle just went out and got me ice cream for my pie. Best husband ever? I think so :)

– Oh, May the Fourth be with you ;)

How was your week? What are you weekend plans?

Listy Friday

  • Tuesday was GORGEOUS outside so Kyle and I treated Campbell to a solo walk around the neighbourhood to practice his leash skills. I managed to go the whole walk without feeling like I had to pee 5 minutes in. This is major for a pregnant woman!
  • My Grandma’s Celebration of Life is tomorrow and I’m both looking forward to it and not looking forward to it. It’s going to be hard, but I think it will bring a little bit of closure to everyone in the family, especially since it’s already been 2 weeks since she’s passed. I still can’t believe that she’s gone. It’s just not fair.
  • I love NHL playoff season, but hate the bandwagoners who come along with it. My Facebook newsfeed is now full of people commenting on the games/the Canucks who generally don’t comment ever. Ugh. There’s also an increase in haters. Oh well. Time to filter the feed I suppose. (PS – Go Canucks, Go!)
  • I’m taking the last week of this month off of work since I still have 6 days of vacation days left in the bank. I have nothing planned and I’m okay with that.
  • My husband is the best selector of fresh produce. Seriously. I can’t pick a good apple to save my life, but the one I’m eating right now is AMAZING and Kyle selected it. There are life lessons to be made when you work at a produce stand for three years.
  • The slo-pitch season starts this weekend with the ice breaker tournament and I’m so sad that I can’t play. Boo to being pregnant! And just to torment myself a little more I’m going to go watch my team play on Sunday. I’m a sucker for punishment.
  • Anyone in Canada use Netflix? I received a month free in the mail the other day but I don’t know if it’s actually worth using. Thoughts? And for the record – I’m pretty sure the Canadian version of Netflix is different/lacking compared to the American version, so that’s why I ask.
  • It’s my Mom’s birthday today – Happy Birthday Mommy! You’re the best :)

Happy Friday everyone! What are your weekend plans?
