Timing, You Couldn’t Be More Perfect

Kyle and I are a little less than a month away from moving into our own little home. In about two weeks, Kyle’s sister is going to be moving back to Kamloops after an apparently split with her longish-term boyfriend.

And she’s moving back into Kyle’s mom’s place. See: Where we’re currently living. Wanna talk about timing? This is it. Oh timing, how lovely you are.

I don’t know why Kyle’s sister (we’ll just call her the Sister for simplicities sake) and her boyfriend broke up, but if it’s serious enough for her to move back to Kamloops, then they must be done for good.

I’m not so thrilled that the Sister is going to be living with us until she finds a place of her own, which may be a huge challenge because she has two cats and it supposed to be adopting Molly (because we can’t have two dogs in our new place). She’s loud, obnoxious and very ignorant. I’ll just have to busy myself with work and packing to keep her from getting to me I suppose. What’s two weeks, right?

And who knows, in two weeks, she may even be back together with her boyfriend. If not … oh well. He’s actually a really nice guy, and I’m actually a little happy for him.

Have you even had to live with someone you couldn’t stand?

Canada Day at a Glance

I hope everyone had/is having a great long weekend! I know that everyone in the US is observing the July 4th holiday today, so I just thought I’d share a few photos I snapped with my camera phone on Canada Day. I forgot my camera at home, so I didn’t get a lot of shots :(

These first few photos are from the multi-cultural food fare that they have every year. The longest line, of course, was the one I chose to stand in, for Filipino food:

The wait for delicious food!

The wait? Completely worth it! For $10 I got a spring roll, a BBQ beef skewer and a huge pile of noodles! (I can’t remember what it was actually called)

So much food! I barely finished it all!

There was tons of local artists and artisans, music, and just good times. It was great spending some time with my family, even though the weather was kinda lame.

I’m back to work today, so all you American readers enjoy your day off! (I’m jealous!)

Happy Monday!

I Remember in the Summer…

… My brother and I used to spend everyday at the pool up the street from our house in the summer.

… I would ride my bike downtown with my Dad and we’d get ice cream.

… We would spend hours by the river, fishing and swimming.

… My grandparents would take my brother and I camping.

… My parents would let me make a mud puddle in the garden and play it while they picked veggies.

… Nothing mattered except for the fact that I wasn’t in school for two amazing months.
