What I’m Loving: Baba Souk

About a month or so ago came across Melissa‘s blog, So about what I said … after she had made a sweet comment on one of my posts. If you haven’t stumbled across her blog yet, you should definitely do so because she’s the sweetest person and her story is so inspiring. Seriously. Do it.

She was hosting a giveaway with Baba Souk, an amazing little Canadian-based online store with some of the most gorgeous little household items, knick-knacks, and baubles I’ve ever seen. Of course, I was taken away with the stuff that they had, so I entered the giveaway. Low and behold, a couple weeks after the entry deadline passed, I found out I won!

Now, I’m not writing this post to boast or brag. I’m writing because I seriously love the items I got from Baba Souk. With the shop credit I won I ordered myself the Black Polka  Teardrop Vase and the Mixed Leaves Notepad. And, about 10 or so days later, my pretty little package arrived in the mail! Nothing makes me happier than REAL mail that isn’t bills, so allow me to share:

Nothing is more fun than pretty packaging and little notes, am I right? I swear little shops like this take way more time to personalize their stuff and make shopping online so much better.

Oh, and of course, here’s my cute little vase and notepad:

Now to just find something special to put in it :)

Thanks again, Melissa, for hosting the giveaway, and to Baba Souk for sponsoring her giveaway! I hope to spend more in the future!

Disclaimer: I won a store credit to Baba Souk through So about what I said and was in no way asked for this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Going Wild!

On the weekend, Callie and I decided to relive our childhood and go to the BC Wildlife Park. It’s a pretty awesome park with local and non-local wildlife and it was just fun to check out the animals as adults!

We got to see an ENORMOUS golden eagle just chilling out NOT IN A CAGE as soon as we got there. The Birds of Prey show had just finished so the eagle was sitting on a perch for people to take SUPER close up photos of it. I’m pretty sure it was bigger than me!

We also saw cougars, black and grizzly bears, moose, coyotes, wolves, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bison, owls, and more! We rode a mini-train around the park for $1, which was a lot shorter than we remembered from when we were little, ha!

Anyway, here’s some photos from the day!

What’s you’re favourite wildlife from your neck of the woods?

Why I Love Blogging

Yeah, I don’t have too many followers, but I still love blogging. You know why?

Because no matter what, no matter how bizarre the issue, no matter how crazy I may sound, there’s always someone, somewhere, with an answer and who could possibly even relate.

Sometimes, IRL friends can’t do that. IRL friends are almost always different than you in some way. IRL friends sometimes don’t understand what you’re going through. But blogging friends? They can relate almost 99% of the time. Or know someone who can.

This is why I love blogging, because there’s so much kindness out there, and there’s always someone who can relate, who’s been through the same things you’re going through. And they’re always willing to help if you want it.

This is why I love blogging.
