Ten on Tuesday

1. What would the title of your autobiography be?

“Stories from a Small Town.” So far, I’ve learned that growing up in a small town can be challenging, especially when everyone knows who you are, were you like, and probably what colour your underwear are. (Hello outdoor clothesline!)

2. What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard a child say or seen him/her do?

(At my evening job at the grocery store)
4-yr old: “Why are you putting the groceries in the buggy?”
Me: “Because it’s good to help!”
4-yr old: *Thinks about it for a moment …* “Yeah, it is!”

It was just really cute!

3. What is your favourite kids game to play?

Tag! Haha, Kyle and I run around the house playing tag. It’s ridiculous since there’s not a lot of space.

4. If you got invited to a potluck BBQ tomorrow, what would you bring?

Either ears of corn (If it’s local and in season. BC has the BEST corn ever!) or a spinach dip. I make a wicked spinach dip, sourdough bread bowl and all!

5. If your ears are pierced, how old were you when you got your ears pierced?

I don’t remember how old I was when I got them first pierced, maybe 4 or 5? I got my 2nd holes done when I was in grade 4 I think.

6. If you were celebrating your 30th anniversary, where would you want to go?

Somewhere warm! Although it depends on how old I am. Maybe a cruise? Old people seem to dig cruiseships.

7. What one blogger would you love to meet and why? And what would you want to plan to do with them?

All of them and we’d drink our faces off. Or just sip on classy martinis.

8. On a scale from 1-10, how good at you at home decor? (Pictures welcome.)

I think I’d give myself a 5, right in the middle. I have splendid taste, but I haven’t been able to put it to use since we’re renting, yaddi-yaddi-yadda …

9. Do you have good fingernails?

No, they’re all different shapes. My index fingernail on my right hand is flat on the top from working at the grocery store & punching in codes!

10. Pickles: Dill or sweet? Baby, spears, or chips? Plain or on a burger?

DILL! BABY! CHIPS! ANY WAY! I’ve always loved pickles. My grandma actually makes sure she has pickles when I go to visit her because I always grab a couple out of her fridge. Oh, and I only put pickles on my burger at home because restaurants always use those nasty sweet-ish pickles. Gross.

Friday Food: Hankerings!

I have no recipes to share this week. I’ve been working evenings and haven’t really had time to cook anything! Microwave dinners FTW. My ass is going to hate me.

Instead, I present to you the foods I’ve been craving. I swear I’m not pregnant, I’m just weird. I’ve posted about this one before.

  • Avocados, preferably in a salad. Shocking thing? I’m not a huge fan of guacamole.
  • A hamburger. A big, juicy, “OMG this can’t fit in my mouth”, hamburger.
  • Yam fries. Preferably on the side with my hamburger.
  • Indian food. I’m considering taking my Dad out for dinner for Father’s Day just so I can eat delicious Indian food.
  • Salmon. No one in my house is a fan of fish or seafood. :( I may have to buy single fillets for myself and BBQ them.
  • Artichoke dip. My mom actually bought this really yummy artichoke-jalapeño dip from Costco and I want some of my own. But again, no one in my house is a fan of spicy food. Stupid picky eaters!

I think that’s it for now. Tomorrow I’m off to Kelowna to visit my BFF and her baby girl. I’m pretty stoked! We’re going bridesmaid shopping/browsing since I’m going to be on of her bridesmaids next summer. Ironic considering my post on Wednesday.

Happy Friday everyone! Craving anything lately?

Ten on Tuesday

Time for another edition of Ten on Tuesday brought to you by Chelsea at Roots and Rings! :)

1. What does your car say about you? If you don’t have a car, what kind of car would be your daily driver?

Being that it’s bright yellow, it says that I’m loud, which is true when you hear  my stereo. Loud!

2. To this point, what has been your purpose on this planet?

I’d say to make people happy, because that’s all I ever seem to want to do.

3. If you could trade places with any person for any amount of time, who would it be?

Someone less fortunate, so I could see how different life can be. It’s definitely not all sunshine and rainbows.

4. What is your favourite kind of cake? If you don’t like cake, what is it about it that you don’t like?

Probably chocolate tiramisu! Mmmm …

5. Would you have wanted to live in your parents’, grandparents’ or great-grandparents’ generation or only your own?

Well my grandparents grew up in the 40’s/50’s and my great-grandparents grew up in the 20’s/30’s and either one would be amazingly interesting! I could live without the 70’s when my parents grew up though, lol.

6. Do you have any home remedies for illnesses, cleaning or otherwise?

Pickle juice for hiccups. And if you’re moving furniture and have those annoying dents in your carpet, just pour some water into the dent and it will lift it out! (It won’t work on carpet like berber though) I learned both of those tricks from Kyle’s aunt and uncle :)

7. What is your ideal weather situation?

Sunny and in the mid-20’s. (Or low 70’s for you Americans! lol) Not too hot but not too cold :)

8. What is your best attribute (physical or personal)?

Physically, I have no idea, but Kyle would probably say either my boobs or my eyes. (Go figure) Personality wise, I’d say “my one vice is I’m too nice.”

9. Do you text or surf while driving?

No way! It’s illegal here in BC.

10. How long have you known your best friend?

I have two best friends. I’ve known one since 2005 and the other since 2007.
