Friday Bullets

Oh my … Am I the only one who’s soooo glad it’s Friday? What a week it’s been! Here’s some bullets to lead you into the weekend:

  • I’ve been watching a lot of wedding shows on TV and I just watched a scene of everyone clinking the glasses to get the newly wed couple to kiss during the reception. I am so not looking forward to that. Maybe I’ll take away the water glasses and we’ll just use Dixie cups all night. My mom wanted to buy little bells, but I so veto’d that one.
  • It was St. Patrick’s Day yesterday, but I didn’t really take part. I mean, I wore some green, but it was unintended. Oh well, at least no one pinched me!
  • I won a $100 dining gift certificate from my Realtor yesterday! Woo! It was a little contest he had for all his clients through a newsletter. I just entered by sending an email, and my name was picked to win. Yay!
  • I just finished the last of the three books I bought back in January and I’m starting to look for new books to read. Any suggestions?
  • Kyle’s last day at his job is today, and he’s feeling pretty sad about leaving. He’s been there for almost four years and his bosses have been nothing but amazing to him. He’s probably going to be feeling a bit down after work today, but there’s nothing but great things ahead in the future. He’ll start his new job on the 28th AND his new truck should be here next week too :)
  • I started to print out the tags for our wedding favours earlier this week and RAN OUT OF PRINTER INK! Ah, the joys of DIY wedding planning! Luckily it was only one page and I could spare at least two, so after heading to Staples, I bought some more ink and finished the tags Wednesday.
  • Yesterday was my little niece’s 1st birthday! I bought her a cute little spring outfit and it fit her perfectly!

That’s all I got for today! Happy Friday! I’ll leave you with a picture of Lilly and Are you as glad as I am that it’s the weekend?

Isn't she a cutie?

Friday Bullets

I’m too lazy to write up a post on one topic, and I’m even feeling too lazy to link up for Seven Quick Takes at Conversion Diary, so you get bullets. Win win!

  • Kyle and I’s wedding bands are in! We’re going to go pick them up tomorrow. How exciting! I can’t wait to wear it. We were trying to figure out who should pay for them – apparently I’m technically suppose to buy his and vice versa, but he paid for the deposit on both our rings (we picked them out together because we’re both picky). I guess we’ll just rock-paper-scissor it out.
  • I won a Coldstone Creamery cake, which is PERFECT because Kyle’s birthday is next week! I’m part of a local radio station’s “Workforce” member and you win sweet prizes. I’ve won concert tickets, CD’s, and Subway for my co-workers already through it. I’ve already ordered Kyle a cake through our favourite cupcake bakery for his actual birthday day (Monday), but instead of making one when our friends come over next Friday, ice cream cake it will be! WOO!
  • I’m getting married in a little more than three months. THREE MONTHS! I can now get the marriage license! EEEK. There is still SOOO much to do. SO MUCH. I try not to think about it because it just makes me panic.
  • My gym progress so far: I have been getting up Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for two weeks now and getting my butt to the gym, despite wanting to stay in bed where it’s nice and warm. I have a gripe with the heart rate monitor built into the elliptical machine though – It keeps telling me about 75% of my way thought my workout that my heart rate is HIGH. I’m thinking it’s because I’m ridiculously out of shape and not because I’m about to have a heart attack. I’m still working up the courage to buy a bathing suit and do laps in the pool.
  • I’ve had my phone for a week now and I still love it – minus it’s poor battery life. Anyway, I’m on Words With Friends! (Scrabble knock-off more or less, and I love me some Scrabble!) Add me if you wanna play: karakins14
  • Last week we received some really sad news at Job #1. Our media company has decided to pull the plug on our in-house press machine, and as a result 31 staff members are out of work in April :( (Read our publisher’s statement here). It will be interesting to see if our office relocated since our building is HUGE and we’ll only be using about 1/3 of it.
  • I have been craving won ton soup for at least a month now. One of these days I’m just going to have to order some. It’s KILLING me!
  • There may be a HUGE change in Kyle and I’s life next week (no, I’m not pregnant), but we won’t know until Tuesday night or Wednesday. Gah!

Question time!

– What’s your “normal” working out heartrate?
– Wanna bring me some Won Ton soup?
– Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Seven Quick Takes

~1~

There’s a stinkin’ blizzard outside right now! It’s windy as heck, there’s snow falling, and it’s COLD! It was even hard to breathe while I walked from my car to the gym this morning. Brr! I plan on staying inside for as long as possible today. Daphne, on the other hand, just wants to be outside.

~2~

Kyle is a pretty huge movie buff so we like to play 20 Questions with movies when we can’t fall asleep. Usually he stumps me and he always figures out my answer within 10 questions, but last night – I won, haha! I guessed all three he had for me and I even stumped him on one of our favourites – Super Troopers! I may brag about this one for a while.

~3~

There was a woman wearing JEGGINGS at the gym this morning. If I could multitask/had a better camera phone/be more incognito I would’ve taken a picture for proof. I can understand tights, but jeggings? Ridonkulous!

~4~

I FINALLY have wedding favours figured out! Whew! I was browsing for ideas and had an “AH HA!” moment when I seen them – Chocolate covered pretzels! We’re going to make them ourselves, the chocolate covered part, that is. Delicious! We’ve also finally started picking out our music for the “main” songs. The hardest will be the mother/son, father/daughter dance. Everything is so cliché! We also have the best song ever for the wedding party. Everytime we knock something off of our “to-do” list it gets me more and more excited about the wedding.

My dad JUST called and told me I can get my new phone today, and then get a new phone contract next week. Huzzah! Goodbye, POS flip phone!

~6~

Even though Kyle and I pretty much just bought our place, we can’t help but keep looking at real estate. We’re already looking into what and where we want our next house to be. It will definitely be our “child-raising” home, lol.

~7~

This will probably make me sound like a cranky old lady, but the “kids” (See: College students) next door to us are SO LOUD. I’m more than certain that it’s Reading Break and they’re just partying. Last week they were yelling outside as they got home from the bar at 3 in the morning. Last night, it was loud music while I was trying to watch Big Bang. Oh well. They eventually turned their music down, and they didn’t wake me up in the middle of the night, so I won’t complain too much.
