Reading // “The End of Men” by Karen Rinaldi. I picked this book up for free through Kobo, and so far, I’m glad I did. I’ve thought about abandoning it but a part of me keeps hoping it gets better. Full disclosure: It’s a chick lit book and not about women empowerment. No bra-burning over here, people.
Watching // We just started watching “LA to Vegas” on a whim and it’s so oddly funny! Kyle and I have grown weary of our “other” 30-minute comedy show, and this one is refreshing! Plus, Vegas holds a special place in our hearts for whatever reason.
Listening to // The Pop2K channel on Sirius radio. Take me back to the early 2000’s!
Loving // The sunny weather we’re FINALLY having! Isla had a Pro-D day yesterday, so we walked to the school and played for an hour and it was glorious.
Thinking // A lot about Daphne. I just miss her so dang much.
Needing // Motivation to do my schoolwork. With the nice weather it’s hard to stay inside and study, but sunlight and computer screens do not mix! I wish I could just sit out in the sun and study at the same time.
Looking forward to // The Boogie the Bridge this weekend! Kyle’s running his first half marathon, Isla is doing the 1K Mini-Boogie, and I’m doing the 5K run. I’m hoping my legs hang in there for me!
Reading // “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doeer. I’m only a few chapters in so far and things are moving a little slow, but after reading reviews I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops.
Watching // Kyle and I just started watching the new season of Alone. If you haven’t watched it, we highly recommend it! It’s a way more intense version of Survivor and it definitely gets some bonus points for being filmed on Vancouver Island.
Listening to // Throwback-style stuff on Spotify! Random songs from my high school years have been popping up in my head, so I’ve be reliving that ridiculous portion of my past thanks to Spotify, lol. Nothing like a little Limp Bizkit, DMX and Kid Rock to start my day!
Loving // That school is almost done for the summer! Only two (half) days left for Isla then she can tackle summer to her heart’s content.
Thinking // How I’m going to put together my office downstairs. I’m heading back to school in the fall (via distant learning) and I’m going to need a space where I can do my work without any interruptions from time to time.
Needing // A massage. I think it may be time for me to cash in my birthday/Mother’s Day present ;)
Anticipating // Norah and Isla’s birthdays. It’s going to be a busy weekend with Norah’s birthday on Friday and Isla’s party on Saturday. Please send me alllllll the liquor come Saturday evening ;)
Looking forward to // Summer vacation! I really hope to make the most of this summer before Isla heads off to kindergarten in the fall.
Reading // Nothing. I’ve been busy baking, wrapping presents, and running around like a crazy woman, I haven’t had time to sit down and read at all! Shame on me :(
Watching // A lot of mid-season finales! This is Us is probably my new favourite show. (Sorry, Grey’s, but you’re getting a little repetitive…) And of course, I watched Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and have so many mixed feelings about it!
Listening to // A little Christmas music here and there! I’m loving Pentatonix’s Christmas album, and of course, Michael Buble is always on my playlist!
Loving // My lovely Canadian Blogger Christmas Swap package that I received from Jenny! I’m looking forward to hanging the reindeer and tree ornaments on our tree once we get it this weekend, and the chocolate is SO good and most definitely needed ;) I’ll probably devour it while putting the face mask to use this weekend. Thanks, Jenny!!!
Thinking // About some new dinner ideas. I feel like we’re on repeat in the kitchen and it’s hard to find new recipes that meets everyone’s dietary needs and desires.
Needing // Warmth! We’re going to a cold snap right now and it’s ridiculous! As I write this post it’s -14°C/7°F plus a wind chill and it’s no fun. Yuck.
Anticipating // My tattoo appointment on Saturday! Time to get something to honour Norah ;)
Looking forward to // Christmas tree hunting, birthday parties, and family time for the holidays!
What’s one of your family’s favourite meals? Help a mom out! ;)
