I Remember in the Summer…

… My brother and I used to spend everyday at the pool up the street from our house in the summer.

… I would ride my bike downtown with my Dad and we’d get ice cream.

… We would spend hours by the river, fishing and swimming.

… My grandparents would take my brother and I camping.

… My parents would let me make a mud puddle in the garden and play it while they picked veggies.

… Nothing mattered except for the fact that I wasn’t in school for two amazing months.

WTF Friday 5.0

Last Friday, I almost died. While vacuuming. Not even joking.

Okay, maybe I’m joking a little, but still, I wish someone would die. Her name is Edith and she’s like that little old lady in that Drew Barrymore/Ben Stiller movie The Duplex who just won’t die. Except it’s not a better house that I want (although I do want one of those), it’s a vacuum. Meet Edith:

She’s about 25 years old, which I think dates back to the Triassic period in vacuum years, and I. Hate. Her. I want a new, sleek, sexy vacuum that doesn’t have electrical tape holding her together SO BADLY, but since this is Kyle’s mom’s and she won’t give it up, I’m stuck with her. “Why buy a new vacuum?? This one works perfectly well!” Yes, perfectly well if the electric tape holds the spliced wires together and the plug-in stays together.

So back to my near-death experience. I was vacuuming away, about 1.5 songs through my house cleaning routine when I went to pull Edith along to vacuum the living room. Her cord was a little tangled, so I pulled a bit more when there was a huge spark and Edith stopped sucking. (Har har har!) Scared shitless, realize that Edith’s cord had snapped in two right at the base. “Great,” I think. “She’s dead! NEW VACUUM!” Except I figure that I should try and fix her just to say that I tried.

I managed to bare enough of the wires to try and twist them back together to get Edith to work again. I plug her back in, turn her on and NOTHING. I was excited yet horrified at the same time. Excited because I’d be able to get a new vacuum but horrified because the MIL loves that stupid vacuum and has issues with holding onto things. I unplugged her and tried again. Success! Expect why did I try fixing her? WTF was I thinking? Now I’m still stuck with her, Edith, the crazy bitch vacuum in the closet who just won’t die. Maybe I should pay off the mob to put cement around her hose and throw her into the drink. Or maybe I should just get myself one of these:

Happy Friday! I hope it doesn’t “suck”! (LOLZ)

Home Is

Image from We <3 It

I’ve been rather stressed lately, dealing with some personal issues at home, so I got this from Nicole over at BusyGirl :) If you haven’t already, you should go check her out.

A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on:
18°C. In my bedroom only. It is FREEZING in there and I love it. No more miserable summers!

B- My BEDROOM theme is:
There is no theme. The walls are white, the comforter is beige and my curtains are gray-ish brown and are too big. I guess “A Mess” is the theme of my bedroom.

C- The CAR in the garage is:
None existent. We don’t have cars in our garage, just boxes upon boxes of stuff. We do have a Ford F150 and a Ford Focus in the driveway though.

D- My DESK looks: Neat and tidy, just the way I like it!

E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: 8:45 a.m. is when my alarm goes off.

F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: My hair. Always!

G- My GARAGE is filled with:
Boxes of junk, other people’s boxes of junk, tools, seasonal tools, empty bottles. The usual!

H- My HOME is: Not even mine.

I- If you peeked INSIDE my bathroom you’d see: The toilet. Srsly. It’s right there by the door and it’s probably the first thing you’d see if the door was ajar. If not, it would be the window.

J- My favorite JUICE is:
Sunripe Mango Pear juice. Sooo good :)

K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: My counter top appliances, minus the stupid microwave/toaster combo. You can’t toast while microwaving! Multitasking fail.

L- The LAST person who visited my home was:
The Roommate’s girlfriend (aka C!) I suppose. Or my dad.

M- The last piece of MAIL for me was:
My Cosmo magazine! I think I’m too deep in a relationship for any of their crazy advice, but it’s hilarious to read.

N- My NEIGHBOURS think I’m: A crazy Asian driver. Or deaf since my music in my car is too loud. I don’t actually talk to my neighbours.

O- If you OPENED my fridge you’d see:
Milk, salad dressing, leftovers, veggies. We eat relatively healthy for three 20-somethings!

P- My last house PARTY was: Probably Kyle’s birthday back in February.

Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is: Potstickers and Rice. Can’t go wrong with it since it’s a favourite.

R- My favorite ROOM of the house is: Now that I have an air conditioner in it, my bedroom.

S- The SHAMPOO brand I use is: Dove. I used to have the Cool Moisture shampoo & conditioner, but I changed it up to Beautiful Care. (Or at least I think that’s what it’s called)

T- My largest TELEVISION is: I have no idea how big our TV is. I think it’s a 38″? Maybe bigger?

U- UNDER my bed you will find:
A lot of doggy hair tumbleweeds and some random empty boxes.

V- The last time I VACUUMED was:
Last Friday.

W- Looking out my WINDOW I see: Out front: The neighbours across the street. Out back: Costco.

X- I wish I had X-TRA:
Money because I’d buy my own house.

Y- My YARD is: Good enough for my two doggies.

Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is: 11pm usually, unless there’s something really good on TV.

Happy Thursday! The weekend is almost here :)
