House Hunt, Round 3

Kyle and I have been stressed out to the max, but I’m excited to announce that we’ve found The One!

After taking a look at houses last week, we were ready Wednesday night to make an offer on the townhouse I mentioned in this post. What it all boiled down to was the fact that it was the perfect starter. It had everything we wanted, was completely updated and was amazingly on the low end of our budget, making mortgage payments a little less stressful.

We only had to deal back and forth a couple of times before we reached an agreement, and if our financing (which we finalize tonight) and home inspection (which is tomorrow) all goes okay, we officially take possession on September 3rd! *insert girlish excited squeals here*

I’ve already spoken once with a lady on the strata council and she’s super nice. She said the “hood” (as she called it) is pretty tight-knit and fairly laid back. There’s no size restriction on dogs and she’s pretty sure we could get away with having two if they were quiet. We’re not going to keep Molly, but we’re glad that she’s staying within the family with Kyle’s sister.

We’re so over the moon excited and all of our family members are too. I’m so glad we’re going to be moving into Phase 2 of our lives!

Now I also have to move onto the packing and de-cluttering phase as well. Joy! Did I mention I have a ton of stuff? Just stuff, stuff, stuff! At least my new closet will be a walk-in! ANND! AIR CONDITIONING! I can actually use my oven in the summer now! WITHOUT DYING! Okay, I’m done being excited – for now!

1. Cell Phone

My cell phone carrier is Bell Mobility. Why? Because Telus is horrible and Rogers don’t have a lot of service coverage. Just say no to dead zones! My actual phone is an LG Rumour because when it first came out I fell in lurv with its slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. Now all I want is a Blackberry. One year to go on the contract!

2. Email

Gmail, because it’s amazing with all its features. iGoogle is my hero at work.

3. Toothpaste

Colgate Sensitive with Gentle Whitening. I have horrible sensitive teeth and like to try and keep my grill white and shiny. And it tastes good. My last toothpaste was gritty and gross.

4. Car

My car is a Ford Focus ZX5. I love the look of them and it’s a zippy, fun car to drive! Bonus points for it being yellow too.

5. Writing Utensil
I don’t really use a specific brand of writing utensil. The pen in my wallet is my favourite pen but I never use it because I’m afraid of losing it or someone taking it! It’s a Pentel EnerGel. I have no idea how I acquired it, but I think I took it from my last job, lol.

6. Lotion

Right now my favourite lotion is Lemon Vanilla from Bath & Body Works. (Which reminds me, have you entered my giveaway yet? Do it HERE! You’ll love it!)

7. Interior Paint

I’ve never painted anything before, so I’m going to take a Pass on this question. Next!

8. Soda/Drink

I drink 7-Up because Pepsi is better than Coca Cola and 7-Up is owned by PepsiCo. And it tastes good with some vodka in it. Huzzah!

9. Laundry Detergent

We use Cheer liquid detergent. It smells good and makes our laundry nice and soft :)

10. Medicine

You have to be more specific that just “Medicine!” For aches and pains we use Advil. Why? I have no idea. Ibuprofen is better than acetaminophen? It sounds like “anvil”? I’ve never actually thought about why we use Advil over Tylenol. Maybe it has something with me being crampy/cranky during ol’ Aunt Flo’s visit.

Blogiversary Giveaway!

I’ve been (officially) blogging for a year now! A YEAR! Hard to believe considering my first post consisted of this:

Sad, I know. But! I DID keep up with my blog, quite well, I thought, and so I present to you a fabulous giveaway for being amazing followers/readers/life partners/ninjas.

Back in the spring, a brand new Bath & Body Works opened up in the mall here in Kamloops. My mom and I were both equally excited to go check it out, and we fell in love with all the amazing fragrances and products. For my birthday, she bought me the Lemon scented body lotion from the Summer Vanillas collection and it’s AWESOME. (Like, “I’m just going to sit here and smell my arms because it smells so good” awesome) [That’s the bottle over there →]

Anyway, to avoid sending you a lotion explosion through the mail (because since when are the post offices nice to packages?), I’m going to give one lucky winner a $15 E-Gift Card to Bath and Body Works. You can use it the online store in case there’s no fabulous outlet near you. (Annnd you can blame them and not me if there’s a lotion explosion at your door.)
