WTW: The Rehearsal

You’d think that the wedding rehearsal would calm ones nerves for the actual wedding. Yeaaaah right!

We had our rehearsal the day before the wedding and I was beyond stressed out. Luckily, the woman in charge of the ceremony venue was amazing! Since there are a LOT of weddings held at the venue, she was a pro at organizing and wrangling everyone together at the right moments.

The greatest thing was spending some one-on-one time with my dad. We don’t share a particularly close bond, but we do have one.

After the rehearsal the girls started worrying about tripping down the aisle and whether or not they’d cry during the entire ceremony (not that anyone did anyway ;) lol), and the guys commented on how under-dressed they all were. It was rather amusing! We enjoyed an excellent dinner at a local restaurant with our wedding party, parents and MC, and got ready to decorate.

Really, the day before the wedding was a blur, an even bigger blur than the day of the wedding itself. It was so full of stress and emotions that I apparently can’t even pull together a whole post about it. This is turning into a garbled mess of a post, so I’ll just stop.

1. How do you pronounce the word aunt? Does your pronunciation rhyme with ‘haunt’ or ‘can’t’?

I can’t, I can’t, understand my aunt! (I just made that up just now!)  I pronounce it like the insect. :)

2. Do most of the people in your life know you blog? Or are you partially or totally anonymous?

I think a few of people know I have a blog, but only a couple actually read it. I keep my blogging on the down-lo.

3. When you grocery shop, do you prefer to bag your own groceries or do you like it when the store bags them for you? Paper, plastic, or reusable bags?

At the store I work at, we bag the groceries for you. A lot of tourists find this fantastic, so I guess it’s not the norm in some places? I prefer not to have to bag my own groceries, but since I’m an “expert” I don’t mind doing it since I know how to do it properly, lol

4. Do you have a green thumb?

Not really! Kyle’s constantly reminding me to water my plants, both indoors and outdoors. I’d love to try and grow a garden one day though. Fresh produce is my favourite.

5. If you watch the Food Network, which chef/show host is your favorite?

I haven’t watched the Food Network in ages, but I loved watching Rachel Ray and Iron Chef (both the original and the American version). I’d love to be a food judge on Iron Chef! The Food Network always makes me sooo hungry, lol.

6. Do you like to take baths? Do you take them very often?

I don’t take them very often, no. I find I just get too warm and sweat. Kinda defeats the purpose of taking a bath.

7. What color are the walls in your kitchen?

Boring white. We have a navy blue tile back splash though, and it looks pretty nice.

8. Do you prefer to dine outdoors or indoors?

We had dinner out on our new patio set on the weekend, and it was fabulous! In the summer (as long as there’s no mosquitoes) I love eating outside.

9. Describe your ideal weather.

Sunny with a nice, cool breeze. I get too warm so easily, a breeze is always appreciated.

10. If you could learn any foreign language, which would you choose to learn?

Chinese, without a question. Do I have to explain why?

Seven Quick Takes

1.  Amber has asked me: “What was your favourite moment from your wedding day and if you would’ve changed anything at all?”

I honestly have no idea if there is one specific moment that I loved the most because it was all so amazing. If I had to pick just one, it would be meeting Kyle and the end of the aisle and finally being able to see him on our wedding day. I think at that moment we were both the happiest we have ever been.

And as far as changing anything, I don’t think I would’ve changed a thing. Everything was perfect and I haven’t got a single complaint. Even the weather was gorgeous!

2. We crammed about 25 people into our tiny little townhouse living room for our gift opening the day after the wedding. Let’s just say the air conditioning was cranked and we were all very cozy!

3. I was so sad to see most of our wedding party go home on Sunday. We had such a great time with all of them! It’s a good thing I held a couple of jackets hostage though so they have to come back and see me. Ha! I’m cleaver like that.

4. I am noticing this is turning into a wedding Seven Quick Takes. Let me re-route my train of thought: I am FINALLY leaving Job #2 for good at the end of the month. Please note the “for good” part. I’ve quit and come back to this job twice and I swear I’m not going back to it again. I love my co-workers there, but the work pains me in a way that cannot be described. Go me! Seriously – give me a high five if you see me.

5. The polish from my pedicure has survived a week without being chipped. What kind of super-powered polish did that woman use?! Too bad my fingernails are all skanky looking. Oh well, can’t have everything, right?

6. Kyle and I set up our new patio set in the blistering sun. Probably a bad idea. We got 90% of it put together and I thought I was going to pass out. It looks amazing though!

7. I’m really hoping the Vancouver Canucks hike up their hockey socks and get back into the stinkin’ game. We are soooo winning the Cup this year! Let’s Ruin the Bruins! (Cheesy, I know, but that seems to be the theme of this year’s playoffs. 3venge? Blackhawk Down? No Way Jose? You get my point) But – Go Canucks Go!
