1. When someone asks you for a book recommendation, what is your go-to book?

Usually whatever I just finished reading. Right now, I’d recommend Water for Elephants, if you haven’t already read it! (But of course you have, right?)

2.  Do you buy your books, or are you a library patron?

I love buying books, but Kyle’s  been trying to convince me to get more from the library. You’d think it would be easy since it’s right now the street from work, but I love browsing new books and the freedom of owning the book. Due-back dates scare me!

3.  E-readers, yay or nay?

Nay. I spend too much time staring at a computer or my phone to begin with. I don’t think adding an E-reader to the mix will be any good for my already failing eye sight.

4.  What was your favourite book as a child?

I loved the Bernstein Bears, if you want to go back that far. Robert Munsch is amazing too. In elementary school, I read a lot of Babysitter’s Little Sister and Babysitter’s Club, as well as Goosebumps! I loved me some Goosebumps.

5.  If you could be any character in a book, who would you be?

I really don’t know. They’re all great but with weird, deep secrets. Maybe I’ll be the peach from James and the Giant peach.

6.  What book would you love to see turned into a movie?

Hmm… Well, Emily Giffin’s book, “Something Borrowed” is already being turned into a movie, so I really don’t know! I’m’ pretty excited for that movie to come out. (The day before my birthday too!)

7.  What is your all-time favorite book?

Probably Marley and Me. Love it. I laughed and cried the entire book. I laughed and cried even harder during the movie.

8.  How many books do you read at once?

One at a time! I won’t start a book until I finish the one I’m on. It’s hard, but I manage, lol

9.  What is your favourite book genre?

I love Chick-Lit, but I’ll read a little bit of everything. I really didn’t think I’d like the Millennium Trilogy, but it was AMAZING.

10.  Which Harry Potter book is the best?  Or haven’t you read them at all?

I haven’t read a single Harry Potter book. Sorry! I watched the first movie though, if that counts for anything. When the books came out they were more for kids my brother’s age at the time. Actually, I don’t think I could read a book about magic. Or vampires *cough* Twilight series *cough*

Ten on Tuesday

1. If you work, do you drive to work or take public transportation?

I drive, because I can’t gamble with being late for work if the bus show up late. It’s happened to my brother many o’ times and he’s been late for work/school because of it. Or, he would wake me up and ask for a ride to work/school in a panic. That and well, I just like the freedom of driving myself around!

2. How often do you get your haircut? Do you go to the same person every time?

Probably once every six months, if that. I don’t have a regular hair dresser – just whoever is available at the semi-cheapest salon!

3. Do you read the newspaper? If so, a hardcopy or the online version?

I do, I do … I subscribe to the hardcopy version of our local daily paper in town and I’ll catch up on updates or new stories throughout the day online. Plus, the online version has sometimes hilarious/annoying comments on the stories that I like to read.

4. What is the best book you have read this year?

It’s a toss up between Girl Who Kicked the Horne’ts Nest and Water for Elephant. They were both awesome in their own rights!

5. What is the best movie you have seen this year?

I haven’t watched too many movies yet this year, but I’m going to have to say the remake of True Grit. I loved the original with John Wayne and Jeff Bridges did an awesome job as Rooster, as well as Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie. I also though the Lincoln Lawyer was good too.

6. Do you tend to crave sweet or salty foods?

Usually salty! I love popcorn with dill pickle or salt & vinegar seasoning, or chocolate cover pretzels.

7. Do you eat breakfast every day? If so, what do you have?

I do! Usually it’s a bowl of cereal or a bagel, unless I go to the gym. Then it’s a Clif bar before I workout and some eggs when I’m done.

8. If you celebrate Easter, what Easter treat/candy are you most looking forward to?

I love white chocolate, so I usually look forward to a white chocolate bunny. Or Cadbury Mini Eggs. Those Creme Eggs are way too sweet so I usually only have one per season, lol.

9. How late is “sleeping in” to you?

If I sleep until 9:00 a.m. I consider it sleeping in! Any later and I feel bad for wasting away a morning.

10. Where are you going on your next vacation?

That, is a very good question. Define “vacation” first! We’re going to a lake in the summer, but it’s for a wedding. Who knows. Maybe to a hockey game in the fall. Or maybe it will be our eventual honeymoon somewhere warm in the middle of winter next year.

1. What is your ideal best date?

Sheesh – I’ve been a relationship for so long that just bumming at home on the couch is a great date for me! But, I do enjoy going out for dinner and then to a movie, so I’ll say that.

2. How long does it take you to get ready to go on a date?

Not very – half and house tops? I’m pretty low maintenance that way :)

3. What would you wear on the date?

It would depend. Probably jeans and a nice shirt. Again – low maintenance.

4. If you are married, how often do you go on dates? If you are single, when was your last date?

I’ll consider myself married for this question ;) We go on dates when we have time, so maybe once a month? I think going out less makes the times you do go out more special, ya follow?

5. What was your worst date?

I’ve never had a bad date. See, when I was in high school, you just “became” boyfriend & girlfriend. There was no number-asking, “We should go out sometime”, or anything like that. So, I’ve never had a bad date because I just wouldn’t date someone I didn’t like.

6. Do you/Did you kiss on your first date?

Yeah, I’m a floozy that way, lol.

7. If married, how long before you knew he/she was the one? If single, how long before you know if the person is marriage material?

That’s a good question. I don’t think there was a certain “Ah ha” moment when I knew I was going to marry Kyle one day. I guess after two or three years of dating I kind of figured we were in it for the long haul.

8. Do you prefer day dates or night dates?

It doesn’t matter to me, as long as I get to spend time with Kyle. (Cheesy much? lol)

9. How old were you when you first were allowed to date?

I’ll say 16 because that seems like an age most parents would let their kids date. I did have boyfriends before that though. I don’t think I have ever told I “wasn’t” allow to date.

10. What is the most embarassing moment you have had on a date?

None! I’m a classy lady ;)
