What a random lot of questions today! Be sure to click the button above and read more ToT entries and link up with Chelsea!

1. What is the worst compliment you have ever received?
My MIL once said to me, “It looks like you’ve lost weight!” when I’m pretty sure I had actually gained a couple pounds. Thanks, Mom!

2. Did you/would you tell everyone the name of your baby before they were born, keep it a secret, or not choose until after they were born?
I plan on keeping it a secret, because some people are evil and will steal your baby names. I’m paranoid that way, and Kyle and I rarely agree on names. I’m going to hoard what I have, thanks!

3. What is your favourite candle smell?
I’m not a huge scented candle fan, but I like peachy smelling ones.

4. What is the best birthday/Christmas gift you received when you were pregnant or the best birthday/Christmas gift you gave a pregnant person that was really appreciated?
I haven’t done either, really. When my BBF’s baby was born I sent her/baby a collection of Robert Munsch books because they’re AMAZING and every child should be read to. She really appreciated it (I think!).

5. Who was your favorite teacher?
In elementary school, I had the same teacher for Grades 3 and 4 and she was amazing! Full of energy and super nice too. She really appreciated every one of her students no matter what. Seriously the best!

6. What is the best game/activity you have ever played at a baby shower?
I’ve never been to one, so I don’t know! I know if I were the guest of honour I wouldn’t like the one where people guess the circumference of your belly. I just think that pregnant women who feel like whales shouldn’t have the fact rubbed in their faces.

7. What was your major in college and did you end up using it in your career?
I didn’t have a major, just a straight-up degree, and I am, shockingly, using it! Shocking, only because it’s stinkin’ hard to get established as a journalist these days.

8. What is a beauty product you swear by?
It’s not really a beauty product, but I swear by washing my face in the morning with a washcloth. It scrubs away all of that nasty dead skin and leaves my skin smoother!

9. What is the kindest thing a stranger has ever done for you?
Not to make my city sound like a bunch of douchebags, but I really can’t think of anything. I think some guy helped me carry something heavy and awkward to my car once, but that’s all I can think of.

10. If you could recommend one new baby necessity, what would it be?
I really couldn’t recommend anything, since I’m baby-less and all. Sorry!

1. You’re packing for a week long vacation, do you pack ahead of time or wait until the last possible minute to pack?
Usually I pack two days or one day before I have to leave. That way I’m less likely to go through my bags and wonder, “Did I pack that? What about that?” So, not completely last minute, but not completely way ahead.

2. Are you a light or heavy packer?
I’m a relatively heavy packer, though I know worse. My suitcase is pretty small, so I don’t get too carried away. I like to be prepared!

3. What are your favourite road trip snacks?|
Something that’s easy to eat while driving, so chips, candy, etc. I usually grab a bag of Miss Vicki’s Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar chips – my favourite!

4. Do you take any reading material along?
It depends on the trip. When I went to Saskatoon – yes, because it was boring half the time. If I have a lot of activities planned, then no. If I get bored I’ll pick up a magazine or something.

5. Do you prefer to drive or fly to your vacation destination?
I do enjoy flying but it’s so stinkin’ expensive to fly short distances in Canada! So, drive on! Plus, I can sing in my car and no one can hear me.

6. What is your favourite time of the year to take your vacation?
Probably in the spring, although I haven’t done any travelling in a long time.

7. Where is your favourite place to vacation?
At a lake. One day I hope to be one of “those” people who can tell people, “Oh this weekend we went to the lake house”, to which they’re respond with “I hate you” glares. ;)

8. You are vacationing in the mountains, what is your favorite thing to do while there?
Hike, and at the same time, run from mosquitoes!

9. You are at the beach for your vacation,  do you like to take it easy on the beach or play all day in the water?
I’d probably take it easy and only go into the water to cool off.

10. While your on vacation do you prefer to eat out every night or cook some of your own meals?
Well, it would depend on where we were going! If the place we were staying in had some sort of a kitchen, then I’d definitely cook some of my own food. If it was an all-inclusive resort, then I’d gorge myself!

It’s all about pasta today on ToT!

1. Red Sauce or White Sauce?
Normally, I like red sauce, but with a seafood-based pasta dish, I like white sauce.

2. Do you prefer pasta you can twirl or stab?
Either! I looooove pasta of all shapes and sizes. And fact: I can twirl my pasta without the assistance of a spoon.

3. Baked or boiled?
Baked, preferably with lots of delicious cheese

4. Do you like meat in your sauce or do you kick it vegetarian style?
I *think* I like meat sauce better, but vegetarian sauce is pretty awesome too.

5. Where have you had your very best pasta ever?
My favourite pasta dish is at a restaurant called Earl’s (it’s a chain restaurant). There’s an (apparent) amazing pasta place downtown but I’ve yet to go! It’s one of those places where I tell Kyle I want to go but we always forget! One day …

6. What is your favorite pasta dish?
At Earl’s, it has kalamata olives, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, cherry tomatoes and some other delicious stuff. I usually add shrimp to the pasta for a few $ more.

7. Do you serve meatballs when you make spaghetti or just do a meat sauce?
I just make a good, chunky meat sauce! It’s a lot less work that making the meatballs.

8. Why type (rice, whole wheat, egg, etc) of noodles do you use?
I use the plain ol’ “regular” noodles that probably are not so good for you. Really though, I think the whole wheat pasta tastes like cardboard. Egg noodles are good though – I’ve been wanting to make beef stroganoff.

9. What type of meats or vegetables do you put in your sauce?
I use ground beef, and then for veggies I use onion, celery, mushrooms and carrots.

10. Do you make a “Sunday gravy” to use throughout the week or do you just open a jar of whatever and heat it up? (No judgment on this one!)
I have never heard of this “Sunday gravy” concept, so no! Usually if I need pasta sauce on a whim I just buy a jar of whatever.
