Two lists in one week! You should feel so, SO lucky!

– I quite enjoy some of the search terms people have used that brought them to my blog. On Thursday’s list of used terms are: “asian pregnant 40 weeks,” “pitcher of food poisoning from chicken,” “dandy lion,” “sheldon cooper stressed.” Oh the hilarity!

– The first of what seems to be like a zillion babies due right now was born the other day! Seriously, I know 5 people who are due to have their babies anytime now. My ex-boss’s daughter reportedly had her baby Wednesday, so I’m pretty excited for her! Next should be my co-worker, whose due date is tomorrow! I’m pretty sure that having Isla has made me baby crazy; I can’t wait to see all the cuteness!

– My mom and I (and Isla) are supposed to head to the hometown tomorrow, but it may be pushed back to Sunday since my Grandpa is in Alberta and it’s snowing like a mo-fo there right now. She’s helping my grandpa go through all my my grandma’s things finally. I say “finally” because well, it’s been 7 months since my grandma passed away. It’s going to be a tough weekend and I’m sure there will be a lot of tears, but I think it will help bring a little bit of closure for both my grandpa and my mom. It’s also going to be Isla’s first sleep over at someone’s house, so it should be interesting to see how this goes!

– It’s super windy out right now (Thursday night) and it feels like it’s eleventy-billion below zero. According to the Weather Network it only “feels like” -7°C (19.4°F for you America folks).

– I’m watching Glee and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about Blaine singing “Hopelessly Devoted.” Sandra Dee did it so much better, IMHO.

– I bought stuff to do a little crafting for Christmas. This is probably not going to end well for me. I am soooo not crafty. Damn you, Pinterest!

Listy … Monday?

– Halloween was last week and it went fairly well! I was worried about having to nurse Isla in the middle of doorbell ringing, but her schedule for the day worked out so she ate just before it all started. Whew! We got 99 trick or treaters at the door and we probably would have had more but I had to turn the lights out around 8:15 since Isla needed her “bedtime snack.”

– I dressed her up as a little pumpkin. I wanted to get her a cute costume, but opted for a cozy onesie instead. Next year we’ll do something more special, since I’ll probably take her trick or treating.

– We’re finally going to have our family photos done this Friday. We were supposed to have them done a couple weeks ago, but got rained out. So far the forecast for Friday is looking okay, so fingers crossed!

– Kyle put our Christmas lights up on Friday! This is the first time we’ve put any up, so I’m pretty excited to start turning them on come December. Last year it was already too snowy to put them up and we never bothered with the townhouse, so yay Christmas lights! I’ll start turning them on December 1, the same day I plan to decorate the house for Christmas :)

– Can someone please explain to me what BB cream is? Apparently it’s the “greatest thing” but I have no idea …

– I went to a craft fair yesterday. Apparently I’m an 80-year-old woman.

– Last week I helped my Grandpa buy himself a new laptop. I’m glad I went with him, because the sales guy was trying to sell him a ridiculously overkilled unit for a couple hundred outside of his price range. Douche! We got him a mid-range PC that will work just fine. I’m quite pleased with myself for telling the sales guy to get bent.

– I re-potted my ficus plant on Friday and Kyle’s certain that it’s going to die as a result, mostly because I suck at keeping plants alive. But this little fella is a trooper! He’s survived four moves, so I think he’ll be just fine :)

– Kyle and I went out for dinner – with Isla – for the first time since she was born. Isla did pretty good! She got a little fussy because she was tired, but she eventually fell asleep. It felt awesome to go out and eat dinner at a restaurant.

– Sunday morning I woke up with the flu. Fun! I woke up several times during the night feeling off and when Kyle got up to go to work, I was achy and had the chills. Then, about 20 minutes after he left I was running for the bathroom to get sick. I texted my mom and told her I was sick and she came over around 9:30 am and took Isla to her house for the day, bringing her back every few hours to nurse. (Thank goodness for my mom only living a few minutes away by foot!) I spent the day sleeping and trying to feel better, and by Monday, I was feeling almost normal again. I don’t think I’ve been “throw-up sick” since I was in elementary school, so that was very unpleasant.

– This morning, Kyle woke up with the flu. Poor guy! I think he has it worse than I did. Let’s hope this bug leaves our house after he fights it through!

– Isla is rolling over now, which means no more leaving her unattended on her change table and strapping her into her baby swing. Here’s a video, in which Isla rolls for the second time (because I wasn’t paying attention the first time) and I get a little too excited for her:

– Entertainment Tonight has a new theme song and I do not approve. Why change a good thing? Apparently they enlisted in the help with Will I Am from the Black Eyed Peas. Here’s a link to listen, and let me know what you think: http://bcove.me/n6x1ggar.

– It got cold in a hurry this week, and I’m pretty sure mom’s everywhere are rushing to take out their kid’s Halloween costumes so they can fit over their snow suits. On a fun sidenote: It was -2 on Wednesday and my neighbour’s landscaping people still came and mowed their lawn. I was rather puzzled by the whole spectacle.
