Identity Crisis (With some Link Love)

Okay, it may not be a crisis, but it’s definitely something I think about quite often: What “kind” of blogger am I?

I’m not a cooking or baking blogger, like my baking idol Angela (seriously – she whips up some amazingly tasty looking stuff!), but I do like to whip up amateur gourmet food every now and then. And I do love food.

I don’t have a baby nor am I expecting one, so I have no fun baby/pregnancy stories to share, but I love reading Chelsea‘s and Danielle‘s adventures in motherhood.

I don’t run marathons or have a passion for yoga like Amber, but I do kind of try to exercise.

I am getting married, but like a said yesterday, I’m kind of in a lull when it comes to planning.

I don’t have an Etsy store and and not the least bit crafty, although I love the works of Mrs. Kyla Roma and Ritzy Misfit.

So, who AM I?

I love my dog, my fiancé and music. I love my friends and family. I love all things random and wonky, so I guess that’s who I am. Welcome to the blog of the random and wonky :)

I’m a Big!

Krysten over at After “I Do” recently called out to bloggers to be a part of a blogging “Big Sister, Little Sister” program, where veteran bloggers are paired up with novices for mentoring, coaching and good ol’ fashioned fun!

I gotta be honest, I wasn’t sure if I’d consider myself a Big or Little, so I left that decision up in the air and Krysten thought I’d make a good Big. Go me and my little corner of internet domain! Needless to say, I’m excited to announce that my Little is:

‘Angel’ at Confessions of a College Angel

Go say hello!

I’m looking forward to sharing my blogging knowledge (or lack thereof?) with my Little. I know there’s a ton of junk I wish I knew before I started blogging … hell, there’s of ton of stuff I still need to learn, but isn’t there always? (Like CSS …)

Day 2

The meaning behind your blog name

There really isn’t a special meaning behind my blog’s name, although it’s origin stemmed from my the column I wrote at the little newspaper I used to work for as editor.

When my boss/publisher told me I could write a weekly column, I was pretty excited, although I was absolutely stumped on what to call it. I went home and told Kyle, and he suggested “Chatter.” At first I didn’t like it, but when you threw my last name in there, it kind of just flowed. It stuck.

Chatter, in the dictionary, is described as purposeless talk, which kind of fits this blog. I have no theme, so it works!

When it came to me starting up my blog once again, I kept the Chatter name. A few of my posts stemmed from my columns but went into more explicit detail and were more uncensored. I also wrote blogged about things my boss wouldn’t let me write about in my column.

So that’s the meaning behind my blogs name!

Tomorrow: My first love
