The high of my week was finding the time to do a quick 30 minute yoga series. I’ve been so stiff and sore lately that I really needed just a good stretch. When I was done I felt like I was inches taller! If you’re looking for a great online source for free yoga classes, check out Yoga Download!
The low of my week was being duped out of a car sale. Kyle and I have been in the market for a new (to us) car to replace our ’04 Ford Focus, and we had found a great car in Maple Ridge for a great price. We contacted the owner, made a deal on the price, and made arrangements to go get it on Saturday. Then on Wednesday the guy emails me and tells me “as a heads up” that he has someone coming to look at it on Thursday, so he’ll let me know how it goes. Apparently he didn’t mean it when he wrote, “We have a deal” on Tuesday. Long story short, we told him that we would no longer be making the 6-hour (round trip) drive down to buy the car. I was pretty bummed about it, but if the guy was an ass through emails, he’s probably a bigger ass in person.
A blog post I loved was this one on First Birthday plans by Colleen. She’s a lovely DIY blogger who lives right here in Kamloops, and her projects are so pretty and SIMPLE! I am not a crafty person at all but she makes everything so foolproof! Anyway, her adorable twins are turning 1-year old soon and I just love the theme she has picked out for their special day.
The best money I spent was on the Halloween costume I got for Isla, which I had mentioned in last week’s TGIF post. I put it on her just to make sure she would tolerate wearing it (because kids are weird), and she LOVED IT. She got so upset when it was time to take it off. I’m going to wait until Halloween to take post photos of her actually wearing it, but here’s the finished product:

Ridiculously cute, no??!
My favourite Isla moment was feeding the ducks at the pond on Thursday! We went to the park last week and didn’t realize how many ducks and geese were actually living in the pond, so this week I grabbed all the heels and scrap pieces of bread I could find in the house and we fed them. Isla thought it was great! I took a little video of our outing too, so enjoy!
My favourite meal of the week was the homemade pizza I made on Monday! Again, I forget to take a photo (because I try not to be THAT person, heh heh), but I promise, it was tasty! Homemade dough (via the bread maker because I made it while Isla was napping and my KitchenAid mixer is noisy), with all sorts of yummy veggies and ground beef on top. Nom nom nom!
My plans for the weekend are golfing tomorrow! Kyle came home from work yesterday and told me that his work buddy had made us a tee time for Saturday, which was a lovely surprise! I’ve only been once this summer, so it will be nice to be able to go again before the season really winds down. My mom also gets home from her holidays this weekend so I (and Isla) can’t wait to see her. I also have ball Sunday night, so I’m looking forward to that as well!!
That costume is adorable! I think Ellie’s going to be an elephant this year – either that or Yoda. And Topher is trying to decide between Darth Vader (his favourite “super hero”) and a fox. We already have all of the costumes from previous years – I’m a little bit sad I don’t get to go costume shopping this year!
Have fun golfing :) I’ve only ever been to the driving range and I could throw the ball further than I could hit it. FYI, I don’t recommend throwing balls at a driving range. You tend to get looks.

What a sleaze ball! That royally sucks about the car. Probably a good idea you bailed. Isn’t it crazy how much better deals there are in the lower mainland? My friend gave me a big lecture when we didn’t buy our truck local but we saved about $4,000 by going down to get it in Vancouver!! It’s nuts
