Day 12

Something I Believe

There’s a lot of things I believe in.

I believe that something happens to you after you die, I just don’t know what. I’m not a religious person, but I won’t say that there isn’t a God. That I don’t know. But I know know that there has to be something more to death than just a long nap.

I believe that you should treat other people the way you want to be treated. I’ve been told this since I was little.

I believe that you should not just other people because they may be different; that you should accept people for who they are no matter what they believe in.

That being said, there’s a lot of things that I don’t believe in.

I don’t believe that murders, rapists and child molesters should ever be allowed to see the light of day ever again. if/when they are caught.

I don’t believe that we are the only ones in the universe.

I don’t believe that if there is a God, that He would make people suffer through illnesses such as cancer, ALS or the like. Why pray to God to get better if He’s the one who put you in that situation?

I suppose those are all touchy subjects, but finally, I do believe that we are all entitled to our own opinions, as long as we can argue for our thoughts.

Tomorrow: Goals

  1. “I don’t believe that if there is a God, that He would make people suffer through illnesses such as cancer, ALS or the like. Why pray to God to get better if He’s the one who put you in that situation?” <– Oh, how I would love to write a blog post on this very topic. Maybe I will. :)

One thing I do know about God and "putting" someone in a situation like cancer: it's the only way my Grandma survived. The type of cancer she had had a 2% success rate. Call it whatever you want, but if it weren't for the strength she found in her faith and the prayers of many believers, I firmly believe she wouldn't be here today.

I'll step off my soapbox now. :)
