TGIF v.30

A high of the week was baseball! The Blue Jays opened up the season on Sunday, and on Thursday my slo-pitch team had a practice. Even though the weather wasn’t particularly stellar, baseball reminds me of summer and that makes my heart happy.

I also scheduled Norah’s cake smash session for her birthday in June, so I now have something exciting to count down to!

A low of the week was Norah’s awful sleeping habits. I was literally in tears Tuesday night because she kept waking up screaming. Every time I got her to sleep and back into her crib, a half-hour later she’d wake up screaming again. I think she finally caved for good around 2:30am and “let” me sleep until 7am.

An internet find I loved was a Crosscountry Canada emulator. Okay, I have to admit that Kyle actually found it a while ago, but I’ve been playing it a bit recently and it’s so bloody addicting. Anyone else remember it from their childhood?? We played it during our “IT” time in elementary school. It’s pretty amusing to see which Canadian cities made it into the game!

The best money I spent was on some new capris for Isla and shirts for Norah at Costco.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Isla chirping a man at Costco for calling Norah a boy. He said to Isla, “Is that your little brother?” and she responded with, “Noooooo, that’s my baby SISTER.” Poor Norah, though, because that’s not the first time she’s been called a boy :(

I also put Jamberry nail wraps on Isla’s gross, bitten finger nails hoping that she’ll stop biting them. Fingers crossed! (Pun intended.)

The song that has been stuck in my head is “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE.

My meals of the week were:

Monday: Jambalaya
Tuesday: Homemade Shake & Bake
Wednesday: Salmon
Thursday: Hot dogs for me and Isla and Norah went to my mom’s because I had ball practice.
Friday: Kabobs

My plans for the weekend are working in the yard and enjoying the weather!

What are your plans for the weekend?

TGIF v.29

A high of the week was nothing. What a cruddy week it’s been :( Okay, a highlight was being able to apply my Jamberry wraps on Monday and having them turn out awesome. I’m looking forward to playing with my other wraps!

A low of the week was everything. Isla’s fever turned into a cold, Norah has been teething like mad and as a result is cranky and fevery as well … Plus Campbell escaped the yard (again) on Monday so I had to load the girls up to find him. Oh, and I caught a cold as well and I just want to hide in bed. Adulting was hard this week, ya’ll.

An internet find I loved was a photo of the colours I’d like a tutu and matching headband made for Norah’s birthday. I was having such a hard time thinking of how to describe the colours I want and the picture does it perfectly. Win!

The best money I spent was on cough, cold, and fever medication.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Isla teaching Norah how to clap her hands. It was adorable and it just goes to show how closely Norah watches her big sister. (Which is a good and bad thing.)

The song that has been stuck in my head is no songs, really, unless you count the theme songs to Isla’s morning cartoons.

“Time for your check-up, time for your check-up!”

My meals of the week were:

Monday: Barbecued pork chops
Tuesday: Spaghetti
Wednesday: Chicken
Thursday: Planked salmon

I will also add that I have been eating ALL THE HUMMUS since I bought a Costco-sized amount of it on Tuesday.

My plans for the weekend are a kids-free dinner with Kyle’s aunt and uncle as a belated birthday celebration for Kyle, dance class for Isla on Saturday, and most likely being the laziest bum on Sunday.

Please, tell me something radtastic that happened for you this week! I feel like such a Debbie Downer.

TGIF v.28

A high of the week was that it was Family Day in BC on Monday, so that meant that Kyle had an extra day off and a short, three-day work week!

A low of the week was Norah barfing down my shirt. That’s always fun. Also, Isla finished up her swimming lessons but didn’t pass onto the next level. :( I thought for sure she would and I’m bummed for her, but she did have a lot of fun and she did progress a LOT during her 10 lessons.

An internet find I loved was this video of a t-rex on a trampoline:

The best money I spent was on a new pen for my day planner. (How lame does that make me sound?) It’s one of those pens that has four different ink tubes and you can switch from one colour to another. I’m pretty excited about it and my planner is going to be sooo much easier to read.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Norah pulling herself up to standing on Wednesday. I can’t remember what I was doing, but I looked over and there she was!

That look on her face is hilarious and totally sums up her determination.

The song that has been stuck in my head is “Pony” by Ginuwine. I totally blame Lip Sync Battle. Man, I miss the 90’s.

My meals of the week were:
Monday: Ham dinner at Kyle’s mom’s
Tuesday: Jambalaya
Wednesday: Meatloaf with mashed potatoes & stir fried green beans
Thursday: Homemade Shake & Bake chicken

My plans for the weekend are a quick doctor appointment for Norah today, nothing on Saturday, and on Sunday Kyle is running his first road race (a 10k one to boot!), so the girls and I are going to be cheering for him at the finish line!

What was your favourite meal of the week? What are your weekend plans?
