It’s amazing how quickly the weekend can go by, even when you’re on maternity leave!

On Saturday my uncle and cousin were in town since my cousin had a hockey tournament. I haven’t seen either of them since last summer (I think? It may have been spring now that I think of it) so it was nice to catch up with them for a little bit. My mom also babysat Isla Saturday night and Kyle and I went and watched the UFC fights at the pub. I had the most amazing hamburger and OMG I WANT ANOTHER.

On a random sidenote – The power went out Saturday evening around 4:45 and didn’t come back on until just after 11. My poor mom, however, had JUST put a roast in the oven about an hour before the power went out. So, she had to throw out a 12lb roast. Such a waste but – she was trying to clean out the deep freeze before they moved, so I guess it wasn’t so bad after all … ?

Sunday morning I got a phone call from some out of town friends who were in town for a concert the previous night, so they said they were thinking about coming up for a visit! We haven’t seen them for quite a while, so it was good to catch up with them! They have two girls, one just over 2 years old and the other is 3 weeks younger than Isla, so we had a little playtime as well. It was actually the first time Isla has really “played” with another baby, other than her “boyfriend” as swimming lessons, so it was good to see her playing nicely with another baby! She did an awesome job sharing. (Also? Isla is HUGE compared to her friend! Three pounds is a BIG difference when they’re that little!)

Today I get to go buy produce and whatnot to blend up for Isla’s dinner. Blending is such a pain in the ass, but SO much cheaper than buying a bunch of pre-made garbage. Plus, I think it probably tastes better.
