Get Out of My Head!

On Sunday, I woke up with my ears feeling plugged. Thinking it was just my sinuses/allergies, I ignored it and figured it would go away as usual. That plugged feeling turned into ringing in my left ear. It hasn’t stopped.

Yesterday I went to the doctor because I’m a hypochondriac and he informed me that I have tinnitus. Apparently, it should go away on its own, but if it doesn’t, I could be looking at something more serious, like actual hearing loss. Not cool.

My Papa was deaf in one ear and all I remember is my Grandma telling me to not scream because it would “hurt Papa’s ears.” He had a hearing aid, but I understand now why it wasn’t good to scream. Whenever there’s a high-pitched noise, it makes the ringing louder. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s freaking ANNOYING. I just want to rip my ear off, Van Gogh-style, but without all the amazing artwork to use as an excuse.

I can’t imagine losing my hearing. Music and sound is everything to me. I wouldn’t be able to do my job if I lost my hearing. I really, really, REALLY hope this goes away soon!

The B Word

Kyle and I have been really antsy lately trying to save up enough money for a down payment for a house. We’re so close but because I’m not working full-time and Kyle’s work has been on/off. We actually had a really great conversation with his aunt and uncle about buying houses and such the other day and they always have great advice and information for us, more than our own parents.

After Kyle and I left their place, Kyle asked me in how many years I’d like to start having babies. BABIES. He’s been so apprehensive about having kids and to have him ask me really made my day. He asked me because of the fact that our first house would ideally  be the place where we start our family.

Anyway, I’m glad that Kyle has warmed up to the idea of having kids. He didn’t want to for the longest time, mostly because he was afraid of being like his father. Hearing him say the B word really made my day. And the fact that he didn’t sound nervous when I told him I’d like to start having kids in three years was even more assuring.

Did/do you have a “x-year plan” for kids? Did it follow through as planned? And are all guys apprehensive about having kids?

Ten On Tuesday

Time for Ten on Tuesday, brought to you by Chelsea at Roots and Rings!

1. What is your favourite piece of furniture in your house?

Well, if yesterday’s Vlog wasn’t any indication, I don’t have any nice furniture, which results in my not having a favourite piece of furniture.

2. If it was raining so hard on a Saturday that you couldn’t leave your house, what would you spend the day doing?

It would be a toss up between watching movies all day or cleaning. Watching movies would probably win though.

3. What was your favourite candy as a child?

This is a tough one! I’d have to go with Fuzzy Peaches:

4. Did you get an allowance? What was it based on? What did you do with it?

I think I got $10 every two weeks. It was based on chores like doing the dishes, dog poop scooping, vacuuming, etc. The usual stuff.

5. Do you have a favourite Etsy store?

I don’t! Should I? Suggestions please peoples!

6. Do you prefer time with family or time with friends?

I enjoy time with both!

7. Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons, or Animaniacs?

Looney Tunes all the way! Although I did watch Tiny Toons and Animaniacs.

8. Best daytime talk show: Oprah, Ellen, The Doctors, Tyra (ha!), Dr. Oz, or Dr. Phil?

I don’t watch a lot of daytime talk shows, but I’d have to go with Ellen. Oprah is a little too cult-ish for me.

9. Would you rather have the power of invisibility or the ability to fly?

Fly! Then I could travel anywhere I want to.

10. Name 1 thing you love about being an adult.

I can go to bed whenever I want to :) Other than that, it’s more expensive to be an adult!
