• How ignorant could some individuals be if they think that it’s okay to toss their cigarette butts out of their car windows? Do they not see the news about how so many of these forest fires are started? Someone suggested that the person who lit a forest fire via cigarette butt/illegal campfire/whathaveyou should have their own home burnt to the ground. Harsh, but I kind of agree.
• On a more positive note regarding the fires – it’s amazing to see how welcoming my city has been towards fire evacuees. From residents opening their homes to people and their pets, to farm owners offering boarding for large animals, to the businesses offering discounts on meals and more … it makes me proud to live here.
• It’s World Breastfeeding Week and while I totally support the right to nurse without judgement, I think it’s also important to remember that there are women who cannot, for medical reasons or otherwise, nurse at all, and that they should be able to bottle-feed their babies without judgement as well. We live in an amazing country where we have options – so lets not judge those who choose option ‘A’ instead of ‘B.’
