TGIF v.33

A high of the week was getting the house ridiculously tidy and clean. I know – that makes me sound like a complete adult, but it’s true. The house has never been cleaner!

Also, Norah turned 11 months old on Monday and I’m just in awe of how fast she’s grown. Feeling all the feels over here, for sure!

A low of the week was a rotten night of sleep for everyone in the house Tuesday night.

An internet find I loved was not really a find, but I was curious to know how far we walked when we were down in Vancouver visiting my brother so I mapped it out on Google Maps. Excluding the Aquabus ride over to Granville Island, we walked nearly 6kms! No wonder why my feet hurt. (Crappy walking shoes didn’t help.)

The best money I spent was $10 on a new pair of shoes for Norah. They were originally $18 but between a sale and a coupon I practically stole them!

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was letting them run wild at an indoor playground on Thursday! We met up with some moms who I know from my June 2015 baby group and kids and the girls both had a blast.

Cue meltdowns in 3, 2, 1 …

The song that has been stuck in my head is Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself.” WHO AM I? I feel like I’ve reverted back to being a preteen with my taste in music these days.

My meals of the week were:

Monday: Spaghetti
Tuesday: Fried chicken with new potatoes
Wednesday: Meatballs
Thursday: Barbecued ribs

My plans for the weekend are taking Isla to her last dance class before her big year-end recital on Saturday and doing the Blackwell Dairy Race on Sunday! Kyle’s doing the 15km race and the girls and I will be doing the 3km Fun Run! Isla’s looking forward to racing ;) I also have slo-pitch Sunday evening after taking a 2 week break. I’m hoping my quads have recovered finally from the Boogie the Bridge and I can actually run during ball. We’ll see!

A high of the week was going to visit friends on Tuesday! The girls and I got out of “the city” and went and had a lovely visit with a friend and her brood! Isla met a cow calf and it was just a wonderful day overall! (And we even snuck in a quick visit with my grandpa as we didn’t know he was in town!)

A low of the week was getting mastitis. Boo! Between sweating my ass off during the slo-pitch tournament on Sunday and not keeping up with Norah’s nursing schedule, it doesn’t surprise me. Thankfully I caught it early and got into the doctor for a prescription before it got worse.

An internet find I loved was Obama’s White House Correspondent Dinner speech. I’m generally not one to pay much attention to political events such as this, but after hearing much buzz about the epicness of Obama’s speech, I had to watch for myself. I was laughing pretty hard throughout it!

The best money I spent was on the Mother’s Day presents Isla got for her grandmas.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was watching them “race.” The video isn’t loading properly, but Norah was in her exersaucer jumping and Isla joined in and was jumping on the spot, declaring it a race. How one wins a race of jumping on the spot is beyond me.

The song that has been stuck in my head is some rap song that was playing during ball. I have no idea who sings (raps?) it or what it’s called though.

My meals of the week were:

Monday: Jambalaya
Tuesday: BBQ’d pork chops
Wednesday: Meatloaf
Thursday: Swiss steak

My plans for the weekend are: Turning 30, hanging with my Mom, playing slo-pitch, you know, the usual ;)

What are your weekend plans?

TGIF v.31

A high of the week was running in the Boogie the Bridge, by far! It was an experience and a half, and I’m already looking forward to the next one! (And maybe next time I’ll have a bit more training under my belt!)

A low of the week was how sore my legs are still. I’m pretty sure it was a poor life choice to go and play two games of slo-pitch after running in the Boogie.

An internet find I loved was this set of photos that the stars of Gilmore Girls have been posting on social media as they film episodes for Netflix! If there’s one series reboot I support 1,000,000,000%, it’s Gilmore Girls!

The best money I spent was on new sheets from Costco! I even had a discount because we’re executive members, so it was a pretty exciting purchase. Ah, adulting ;)

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Norah learning how to give kisses, and Isla doing this:

The song that has been stuck in my head is “Cheap Thrills” by Sia.

My meals of the week were:

Monday: Beef stroganoff
Tuesday: Butter chicken
Wednesday: Fried chicken
Thursday: Meatballs
Friday: BBQ’d chicken

My plans for the weekend are: Slo-pitch, slo-pitch, slo-pitch! It’s the Ice Breaker tournament, so I’ll be up early tomorrow morning and hitting the field at 8 a.m. Hopefully my legs hold out too, or else it will be a bummer. Wish us luck!

Are you a Gilmore Girls fan? Are you looking forward to the reboot?
