TGIF v.45

Well then! I honestly didn’t mean to take a hiatus from blogging, but here I am nearly three weeks from my last post.

A high of the week was our family participating the the Blackwell Dairy Fun Run! For those unaware, it’s a road race that takes place in a super hilly neighbourhood of Kamloops, with a 3 and 15km course. It was gorgeous and sunny, but that made the race hot and tough – not really “fun” at all. Isla and I trudged through the 3km race while Kyle harnessed his inner Beast Mode and completed the 15km. Of course, it’s all about the ice cream at the end, which Isla thoroughly enjoyed!

On Wednesday my mom also treated me to a Paint Nite, which was my birthday present from her! Our paintings turned out to look nothing like the demo, but we still had fun and I’d definitely do it again!

A low of the week was my allergies flaring up. The outdoors HATES ME and I even got a nose bleed just because my allergy meds dry out my sinuses so badly.

An internet find I loved was the Red Nose Day Actually short. Love Actually is probably my favourite Christmas movie, so being able to “catch up” with the characters from the movie was pretty awesome. And really – they haven’t changed much, appearance-wise, except for maybe Andrew Lincoln ;)

The best money I spent was $15 at Costco on some capris for Isla.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was going to the splash park with them on Wednesday. We were meeting our friends from dance and while it wasn’t the warmest of days, they were both still hell-bent on putting on their bathing suits and getting wet.

A song that has been stuck in my head is the song that plays at the end of the movie “Sing.” I can’t remember what it’s called, but dangit, it’s catchy!

My meals of the week were meatballs, chicken, meatloaf, butter chicken, and tonight, burgers!

My plans for the weekend are a barbecue tonight with friends, Isla’s dance recital Saturday and Sunday, and slo-pitch Sunday evening!

How have you been??

TGIF v.44

It’s weird. Things have been crazy busy and yet not. My downtime has been spent being a complete couch potato and I’ve been feeling uninspired to blog anything of value.

Regardless, here’s a quick little update on what’s been going on this week!

A high of the week was receiving some pretty amazing customer service from lululemon! Long story short, the zippers broke on two of my favourite hoodies/jackets, and they offered to give me a full refund via e-gift card so I can shop online for some replacement gear.

A low of the week was losing out on putting an offer in on a great house because we hmm’d and haw’d about it for too long. Ugh.

An internet find I loved was this video of two guy blocking in someone who accomplished douchebag status with his parking job. (As it turns out, it was totally staged, but more people need to do this to bad parkers!)

The best money I spent was new sandals for Isla and I. Can’t go wrong with BOGO 50%, right?

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Norah harnessing her inner cat:

She fits, she sits. ;)

A song that has been stuck in my head is “Believer” by Imagination Dragons, and also the entire Moana soundtrack. (“What can I saaaay except you’re welcome!”)

My meals of the week were steak kabobs with mushrooms, peppers, red onion and zucchini, meatballs, tomato and spinach pasta with Italian sausage, fried chicken and chicken wings with potato wedges.

My plans for the weekend are prepping the kitchen to have our new countertops installed(!!!), taking Isla to a birthday party, having Mommy & Me photos taken with my mom and the girls, and slo-pitch!

What’s exciting in your life?

TGIF v.43

A high of the week was visiting with a friend over coffee Thursday morning. It was long overdue and it was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours before I had to go pick Isla up from school.

A low of the week was Norah’s furious teething ritual of drooling, blowing snot everywhere, and being a grumpy pants at bedtime. She’s a hot mess of a child and I cannot wait for that dang eye tooth to bust on through.

An internet find I loved was this video of a wedding first look:

This couple must have some hilarious times if she pranked her groom-to-be like this on their wedding day! I just died laughing.

The best money I spent was $6 on a razor holder for my shower. For realz.

My favourite Isla and/or Norah moment was Norah’s adorable bathtime antics. Almost every night she lines her duckies up in a row for kisses.

A song that has been stuck in my head is “Starboy” by The Weeknd/Daft Punk.

My meals of the week were Greek ribs & potatoes, pork tenderloin, meatloaf, butter chicken, and I made delicious summer rolls (again) from Chrissy Teagan’s Cravings cookbook.

My plans for the weekend are visiting my dad for Chinese New Year. Gung Hay Fat Choy!
