Ten on Tuesday

1. What are your designated chores in your home?
We don’t really have designated chores. Kyle and I both do what we can, when we can. I will say that if I’m vacuuming or doing laundry Kyle will help me by lugging the vacuum or laundry basket downstairs for me if it’s too heavy. I’m getting too pregnant to be lifting heavy and awkward things!

2. What is your least favorite chore to do around the hose?
Definitely cleaning the bathrooms, which reminds me, they need to be done. Ugh.

3. What was your designated chore growing up?
Unloading the dishwasher, mostly. Or vacuuming.

4. Did you get paid to do chores or was your allowance connected to you completing your chores?
I think my allowance was connected to me completing my chores. I really don’t remember though.

5. If you had a bit of extra money, would you hire a cleaning person or would you save the money for something else?
It would depend. Do I desperately need help keeping on top of my cleaning? If so, then I’d definitely pay to have someone clean my house. If not, then probably not.

6. What chores will you make your kids do around the house?
Cleaning their rooms, helping in the kitchen, and maybe laundry when they’re old enough.

7. How frequently do you do laundry? Wash your sheets? Dust?
I think we do laundry about twice a week, once when Kyle is working and once when he’s off. We have three sets of sheets, so we change them once a week. Don’t even ask me about dusting … it doesn’t happen nearly as often as it should.

8. Do you have a designated “chore day” during the week?
No. Because Kyle works shift work, we just do housework whenever.

9. What is your favourite chore–if such a thing exists?
No such thing exists. If I enjoyed it, it wouldn’t be a chore, now wouldn’t it? ;)

10. Do you do anything to help pass the time while doing chores (music, TV, etc.)?
Sometimes when I vacuum I’ll have my iPod on, or when I’m putting laundry away I’ll turn the TV on. Usually with the TV on it takes me longer to finish things because I get distracted.

1. What did you do this weekend?
Saturday consisted of doing a lot of nothing for most of the day and then visiting my grandma … which is a long story in itself which I’m not ready to get into.

2. Do you prefer short fingernails or long fingernails?
Medium length. Dragon claws are just scary and I personally think that short, stubby nails look weird painted, so I’ll go with medium length. In my books that’s when the edge of your fingernail just meets the tip of your finger. I will note that my nails are therefore long, according to my definition, and need to be cut.

3. What is your favorite use for Pinterest?
Other than wasting time? Probably finding recipes or newborn photo ideas. I’ve yet to decide if I want to pay for a newborn photo shoot when Baby I arrives or if I want to attempt one myself. I have the equipment, I just don’t know how to use it to its full potential.

4. Do you sleep with your mouth open?
Probably, considering I wake up drooling a lot. I also make some pretty interesting snoring noises according to Kyle. Whatever.

5. Where did you have the best pizza you’ve ever eaten?
That is a very good question! I don’t think I’ve ever had a piece of pizza that was that memorable for me. Pretty lame, I know.

6. What do you eat for breakfast on weekdays?
Usually a big bowl of cereal. If I’m feeling really energetic I’ll make a bagel, but for the most part it’s cereal.

7. Do you watch awards shows? Why or why not?
Sometimes I do. It usually depends on if Kyle’s home or not. He’s not big into them, and they can be pretty boring. Usually I just watch the Golden Globes, that way I know “who’s who” in movies AND on TV, and I’m killing two birds with one stone. I never remember when the Grammy’s are on. (Except for this year, because Whitney Houston died the day before.)

8. Can you whistle? Snap? Curl your tongue? Bend down and touch your palms to the ground?
Yes; I’m guessing you mean snap your fingers, so yes; Yes; and definitely not right now since I’m pretty much a whale. Actually, I don’t think I could even when I wasn’t pregnant. I can, however, make my thumb touch my forearm. Woo!

9. What email service do you use?
Gmail all the way! Actually, I have a Hotmail account too purely for the purpose of MSN Messenger, but I never even use that.

10. What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Photography can be outdoors, so I’ll go with that. I also don’t mind hiking (as long as I get lots of breaks) and playing a sport of some sort. Golf and slo-pitch are my favourite summer things to do.

And – as a sidenote – Happy Birthday to my amazing husband!!! He’s 26 today!
Love you muchly!

Math was my absolutely worst subject in high school. It still is. These questions should be fun!

0.01×10^2. What was your best/worst day in math class?
My worst? It would’ve been almost failing Math 12 in order to graduate or getting busted for cheating on a test in Math 11. My best day would be finding out that I got a D on the final exam for Math 12 so I could graduate with enough credits.

20×10^-1. Who was your favorite/least favorite math teacher? Why?
Mr. Colvin, lol. He was younger, so he was easier to relate with. That, and he wasn’t too bad looking either. All the girls had crushes on him, I’m sure.

3×10^0. Is it okay to be bad at math if English is more your thing?
Yes. Yes it is. I’m HORRIBLE at math and English is definitely more down my alley!

0.4×10^1. How does this video make you feel?
I am confused. Are those women for real? Seriously? You don’t believe in math? Kids should have the right to choose whether or they want to take it? SERIOUSLY? Next question …

500×10^-2. What do you like/not like about math?
I like it when it makes sense. Add in letters, and I eventually lose my mind and get confused. What really made me want to die in high school were math proofs. Blarrrrg.

0.006×10^3. What makes someone a nerd?
Being both smart and cool. Or something like that. I have no idea, lol.

7×10^0. Who is the nerdiest person you know?
It’s a toss up between a guy a graduated high school with who’s now being coming a biochemist (or something equally revolutionary) or Kyle’s BFF, who is extremely technically savvy but hip and happening at the same time.

80×10^-1. What is the nerdiest thing you’ve ever done?
I wouldn’t say I did it intentionally, but I learned that I needed glasses because I couldn’t read the dialogue box on the XBox game I was playing.

0.9×10^1. Do you think GraphJam is funny?
I had never heard of it until just now, but yes. Yes I do.

10×10^1. Have you ever used math outside of school?
Complex math? No. Simple math like making change, figuring out how many birds are eyeballing me from the roof across the road and hours until the end of the day? All the time.
