Ten on Tuesday

1. From your childhood, what do you miss most about summer vacation?

Camping! I love camping so much, I wish I had more time for it these days.

2. Are you going anywhere on vacation this summer?

Not technically. I’m heading out to a lake for a wedding and then up to Northern BC for another wedding. Other than that – maybe a day or overnight trip somewhere. Nothing fancy.

3. What foods do you like to barbecue?

Steak! I make THE BEST marinade ever. I swear to you! It’s just soy sauce, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic powder, lemon juice and oregano. SO GOOD! I also whip up some good shrimp kabobs too, soaked in lime juice, olive oil, and dill. NOM!

4. How do you celebrate the fourth of July?

Since I’m Canadian, it’s just like any other day to me. July 1st, however … ;)

5. What’s your favourite beverage to drink in the summertime?

Anything fruity and refreshing. I got myself a bucket of daquiri mix in the fridge right now. It’s going down!

6. What movie are you looking forward to seeing this summer?

Good question! I’m looking forward to the Hangover 2 right now. That’s about it, really.

7. In the car: windows down or AC?

It depends on how hot it is. Right now, I’m doing more windows down action. When it’s 30°+, it’s going to be AC full-black all the time.

8. Have you ever had a summer fling?

Nope! I never quite understood them.

9. Do you wear sunscreen?

When I remember to. If I know I’m going to be in the sun for a prolonged period of time (like when I’m playing golf or softball) I’ll slather on the SPF 30.

10. Do you have any favorite summertime activities?

Just being outside! I plan on reading many books this summer!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Have you ever used Craigslist?

I have. I’ve never bought anything off of Craigslist, but Kyle and I have used to to sell our old vehicles, quite successfully too. My car took a week to sell when I placed it on there.

2. Can you sew?

Only when a hole needs to be fixed and it’s in a hidden area. Or a button needs to be sewn back on. Or when Daphne’s stuffed toys rip open. I’m definitely not a crafty sewer.

3. Do you pour syrup on your pancakes or dip your pancakes in the syrup?

I pour maple syrup on my pancakes and when I run out I use whatever’s on the plate. I guess I do both in the end.

4. Rain storms: Love them or hate them?

Love them! We had one the other day and it smelled soooo good!

5. Do you like swimming?

Only if it’s in a lake or private pool. Public pools give me the heeby-jeebies.

6. What kind of drink do you order at Sonic?

Aww, we don’t have one of those here :( I don’t even think we have an equivalent!

7. Are you funny?

I have an odd sense of humour, but yes. I like to think I’m a little bit funny, if not funny looking. Har!

8. At what age will your kids get cell phones?

When they’re old enough to pay for them all on their own, even if it’s a Pay & Talk kinda deal.

9. What’s your favourite vegetable?

Green beans. Mmm!

10. Were you a Girl Scout?

No. We didn’t really have that kind of program in my hometown. Oh well. I still know how to start a fire, and I have no problem buying those delicious boxes of cookies!

1. Your favorite piece of furniture in your home.

She's not pretty, but she's where I spend the majority of my time at home!

2. Your favorite thing on your wall.

Sure, it may sound conceded, but I'm damn proud of that expensive piece of paper!

3. Your bed as it looks right now.

My mom would be appalled by the fact that I don't make my bed every morning. (Note the PJ pants and Cosmo magazine for that extra touch of class)

4. Your pantry.

This is where most of the "junk" goes, although we have a cupboard dedicated to canned goods as well as one for all my coffee & teas. That big Rubbermaid lid on the bottom is for Daphne's dog food.

5. Your favorite piece of jewelry.

I was too lazy to re-take a photo, but my engagement ring is still my favourite piece of jewelery!

6. Your favorite book.

I don't have the actual book with me (My mom is reading it) so you get a web image.

7. Your most comfortable shirt.

Stacy & Clinton from "What Not to Wear" would cringe at the sound of the word "comfy" but this is my favourite "I don't have to work today so I'm going to wear what I want" shirt. (For you non-Canuck fans, Johnny Canuck is one of the Vancouver Canucks' unofficial mascots)

8. Your messiest room.

This is where all the dirty stuff goes. Tools, boxes, junk, you name it. Complete organized chaos.

9. Your house shoes.

I never understood people who wear actual shoes in the house, but I always wear my nasty pink slippers. (Daphne seems to get water everywhere and I HATE wet socks)

10. Yourself.

Gotta love bathroom mirror shots. You can also see a little bit of Daphne in the corner. (Photobomb fail, lol)
