Listy Friday

– On Tuesday I tweeted this:

traffic tweet

A little vague, am I right? Right. So, let me explain the situation in more than 140 characters. Basically, I was sitting in traffic at a red light. At the intersection I was at, there’s two left-hand turn lanes and two straight-through lanes (the left lanes get their own advanced signal to turn). The left turn light turned green, but since my light to go straight was still red, I waited. (Obviously) The woman behind me said she just glanced up, saw green, assumed it was for our lane, and BLAM – hit me. It scared the crap out of me, terrified Isla, but we’re just fine. I got the lady’s information, and went on my way home. My car seems to be okay, but I filed a claim with my insurance company and am having the bumper removed at a shop next week. It’s little tweeked and should be an easy fix, but lets just hope there’s no extra damage!

– My grandpa is finally back from his venture down south. Yay! It’s great to have him back in the country, and I’m looking forward to Isla getting to know her great-grandpa better.

– Now that I’ve finished sulking about not going back to work in June, I’m looking forward to spending more time with Kyle and raising Isla. I’m also looking into the possibility of retraining for a different career path. The possibilities are endless, really, so it’s just a matter of figuring out what I want to do.

– I pre-ordered  a new cellphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4. This is, by far, the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done. I’m super stoaked for a new phone. Everyday I want to throw mine into the toilet, so I can’t wait to get my hands on my new phone! I’m picking it up next Saturday before I head to Vancouver, so hopefully I can figure it out quickly while I’m down there. Or at least know how to make a call. I’m sure my mom will be thrilled by my distraction!

– I went to see my chiropractor yesterday and it was the best. thing. ever. She cracked all of the things, including my ribs. RIBS. I feel like I’m about eleventy inches taller. For real.

That’s it for today. I’ll leave you with an adorable photo of Isla, all decked out in the outfit she got for Easter:

Listy Friday

– I miss two-stepping and honky tonk. How hillbilly does that make me sound right now? But seriously – The only bar/dance club in town is a country-inspired bar and early in the evening the DJ plays country music. Being from a tiny rodeo town, I love me some country music, and I miss dancing to country music! One day, when Isla is old enough to be left home with a babysitter/her daddy/the dogs/a stranger babysitter, I’m going to go dance my face off. Even if I’m 100 years old.

– I’m loving The Voice blind auditions! I’ve never actually gotten into the actual show after the auditions were over, but I’m thinking with all the spare time I have on my hands these days I may just break that habit.

– Weening is a bitch, yo. My boobs are confused. Time for cabbage therapy. Moms will get this. Others will think I’m crazy.

– You know what’s in need on a dictionary? Words With Friends. I’m more than certain someone in the app’s programming department was half asleep while compiling its dictionary, because some people I’m playing against are throwing down words that would NEVER fly in a game of Scrabble. Also? The random throwing down of tiles on the board and hoping that WWF confirms that the combo is a word.  “WEOASID … Send move to Steve?” Ugh.

– Yesterday when I woke up (around 7am) it was snowing like a mutha-trucka outside. WHAT? And then, about an hour later, it was sunny and happy and I’m certain Kyle thought I was lying when I told him it was snowing. So, to show Mother Nature who’s boss, my summer tires got put on my car. Let’s just hope it stays nice, because I’m really not wanting to drive to Vancouver through the mountain pass in the snow.

– My mom’s birthday is tomorrow, so Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Listy Friday

– I’m certain that it’s baby season. Ladies – don’t drink the water! Between bloggers and IRL people, I can’t keep up with all the pregnancies and births. Seriously.

– I had a relatively uneventful Easter weekend. Kyle worked, Isla’s too young to look for eggs (or eat chocolate), so we just hung out at home. I did, however, take some ridiculously cute Easter photos of her. What’s that? You’d like to see? I thought you’d never ask!

– After a series of bizarre events, I had stitches put in in my forehead last Tuesday and had them removed earlier this week. Yay! I’m going to have a sexy scar. And? Every now and then my scar starts hurting. Pretty sure I’m Harry Potter.

– I also had an MRI last week for a follow up on some masses that were found during an MRI a couple years ago. As it turns out, they’re hemagiomas – bundles on blood vessles that mean nothing. Yay for nothing! I’ll have another MRI in a year to check in on them again, but really, they’re nothing to be concerned about. Woo!

– I got the go-ahead from my doctor to give Isla cow’s milk if I want to try. He said that her tummy may not be ready for it, but if it goes well, go for it. We shall see how it all pans out. Right now I’m OK with pumping and giving her a bottle, but there are days where it’s hard to get enough pumped for her.

Can anyone suggest an alternative for a Google Reader phone app? I’m using Feedly right now but I’m really not liking it. (Difficult to navigate, have to log in every single time I want to access my feed) I use an Android phone too, so I’m slightly limited to what I can download.

– My birthday is in just over a month. I’ll be closer to being 30. WHAT THE HELL, LIFE? SLOW DOWN! With that being said, I have no birthday wish list other than a nice dinner out with my husband. And cake. Delicious cake.
