50 Questions, Part 6

Read my answers for #’s 1 through 35 here.

36. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil?
In your own mind, yes. But to others, what you deem as “good” may be viewed as “evil” to others. For example, being gay is not viewed as being evil to those who have an open mind, but to some it may be seen as being evil, disgusting or wrong. So yes, it is possible to know what is good and what is evil, but it’s all in the eye of the beholder.

37. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?
If it were only a million, no. But I could live a lot comfortably, like mortgage free or car payment free.

38. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing?
Right now, I’d like to have more of my time be consumed by work I actually enjoy doing.

39. Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before?
I sure have.

40.When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?
I honestly don’t know. Usually I have a good grasp on what I believe in before I march into the unknown.

50 Questions, Part 5

Note: My posts for the next couple weeks may be non-existent, or at least very sporadic. The power company is upgrading the power on my street, and I’ll be without power in the mornings. Boo!

31. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

It might have been graduating from university. It also might have been playing softball. I missed the adrenaline of playing on a team and winning. I hate losing! So I guess you could say I’m passionate about winning and playing sports makes me feel alive.

32. If not now, then when?

Just doing something I love. I suppose it doesn’t have to be winning at something.

33. If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose?

Nothing I suppose.

34. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?

I can’t say I have, sadly.

35. Why do religions that support love cause so many wars?

I don’t know if religion truly supports love, or at least not all types of love. Maybe that’s why it causes war. We all have our different opinions on what love is or is not, and there’s bound to be an argument or two in there somewhere.

Giving Up

If you love something, set it free …

I’m not saying I’m quitting, but I’m giving up on trying to stay in contact with someone who is/was one of my closest, best friends.

I haven’t seen her since May. We’ve talked about meeting for coffee. I told her whenever worked for her worked for me. She was suppose to text and let me know. I haven’t heard anything since. She broke up with her boyfriend, quit Facebook, and still hasn’t bothered to tell me what’s up.

Sure, I could text her first, but why bother when in the past they’ve led to nothing? I’m tired of making an effort and getting nothing in return. I’m guessing she knows I’ve moved since I ran into her brother in-law and we discovered that we live in the same townhouse complex. I could invite her over, but I don’t really want to.

I’m just tired on hanging onto a friendship that requires delicate work, and normally I’m not that kind of person, but I just can’t keep worrying about whether or not she’s going to get a hold of me.

The ball is in her court. When/if she wants to see me, she can call me. I hate that I’ve come to this, but I have more important things to worry about.
