Monday again already? Time is just zipping by, and I cannot believe it’s already February 1!
Here’s what we got up to this past weekend:
Friday
It was a pretty quiet day, really. I decided to go for a 30-minute run on the treadmill Thursday night and was really feeling it the next day! I ran about 2.2 miles and I figure that’s not too bad considering how inactive I’ve been since finding out I was pregnant with Norah! I’m thinking that if I run at least once a week I’ll be in decent shape to run a 5K in April. (Or at least that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself.) We had barbecued pork chops for dinner and they were amazing! I cannot wait for the weather to get warmer so we can utilize the barbecue more often.
Saturday
Isla had dance lessons and I did the grocery shopping while she was in class. My mom met up with us at the studio and we headed to a new(ish) Vietnamese restaurant that I’ve been dying to try. The food was AMAZING and I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer. I had salad rolls, chicken skewers and a vermicelli noodle bowl and I was stuffed! Isla really loved the salad and spring rolls. I also had a bite of my mom’s chicken pho and it was SO good. I’m drooling just thinking of it.
After lunch my mom took Isla for a sleep over at her house, so it was just Kyle, Norah and I for the afternoon! We lazed around the house and dropped Norah off at Kyle’s mom’s for a bit so we could go enjoy a kid-free dinner! We didn’t go anywhere fancy, but it was nice to get out and be adults for a little bit! I had a cheeseburger and it was SO good.
I felt like I was really winning in the food department on Saturday, haha.
Oh, and a woman also came to look at my piano Saturday morning. I decided to sell it as it’s just taking up space and I never play it anymore, nor do I anticipate Isla or Norah taking up interest. In the end she decided it wasn’t for her, so if you or anyone you know needs a piano, just let me know! ;)
Sunday
We had no special plans for Sunday. Norah had a rough night of sleep and we ended up being lazy for most of the morning. My mom brought Isla back in the afternoon and Kyle’s aunt and uncle stopped by for a visit as well. Kyle cooked up an amazing roast for dinner and I’m looking forward to having the leftovers in a sandwich for lunch!
Isla got her first bloody nose Sunday night. She was in her room sitting improperly in a chair, and she fell into her bookshelf. She didn’t break it, but it certainly didn’t feel good! Luckily she got over it in a hurry and was back to being chaotic as usual.
Oh, and here’s a picture of Norah and Campbell because why the heck not? Norah has discovered the magic that is the dogs’ food dishes, so I spend half my time making sure she’s not tipping the water dish over or eating their food.
How was your weekend??
We might buy your piano if you lived in Edmonton ;) Nathan’s been wanting a piano for a really long time but we have no room in our condo – hopefully we’ll be able to get into a house soon! Ellie is almost 3 and she still gets into the dog’s food. She doesn’t eat it anymore but she hides it all over the house. I never know when I’m going to step in a little pile of kibble!

That’s fun you are going to do a 5km in April!! I’m sure running once a week will be lots to get you in shape, make sure you do 1 or 2 runs outside too though! You should join the Y again, you get 2 hours of free playcare every day when you go to a class. I love the Y!
