Thursday Things

I’ve been busy repainting my bathroom, which has turned out to be a big nightmare. So today, I’m borrowing the following travel Q&A questions from the beautiful Krysten (go say Hi!), and giving my brain a little break.

via we <3 it

1. Your most treasured passport stamp? I’ve only used my passport once, so I only have one stamp! It’s from our trip last November when we went to Vegas. Since we had a layover in LA, we had to go through customs there, so my first and only stamp is from LAX. Makes me feel fabulous, lol. (Although I will say that LAX was really underwhelming. Such a “blah” airport!)

2. Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked? Yeah right. I have trouble remembering my own phone number sometimes.

3. Preferred method of travel: Plane, train, or automobile? I love travelling by plane, but it’s so damn expensive! I think I’ve only travelled by train once (Vancouver to Squamish). Travelling by car is the way to go, plus you have more control on where and how often you make pitstops.

4. Top three travel items? My Kobo – I totally agree with Krysten – All the books I want on one, small device! I could live in my lululemon crops while on vacation, and I bring sunglasses everywhere I go. My eyes hate sunlight and I squint so badly when the sun is out.

5. Hostel or hotel? Hotels, all the way. And as many stars as I can afford ;)

6. Are you a repeat visitor, or do you prefer to explore new places? I wish I have travelled more to be able to answer this one better, but I’d say I’m a little bit of both. I’d love to go to a few places I’ve never been before, but I love going back to familiar places as well. Vancouver is one of my favourite places to visit, and I cannot wait to one day go back to Vegas.

7. Do you read up on your destination, or do you wing it? I like to read up a little bit so I’m not completely blind when I get to where I’m going. I like to know what kind of shops and restaurants

8. Favourite travel website? I browse Tripadvisor a lot when I’m looking for places to eat. And we used Expedia to book our hotel and flights to Vegas.

9. Where would you recommend a friend to visit, and why? Like I said before, I haven’t really travelled much, so I’m not sure where I’d tell people to travel to. I would definitely say that Vegas isn’t for everyone. If it’s a blog friend who’s travelling, I’d say visit Kamloops so we can become IRL friends ;)

10. You’re leaving tomorrow and money is no option; where are you going? Europe! I’d love to visit Ireland and Great Britain someday. That’s where I’d go, hands down. I’d also love to visit China someday too, but I’d definitely do a guided tour for that.

Thanks Krysten for the blog-spiration! :)

  1. FUN! Can some people recite their passport number? I definitely can’t!

My favourite place that I’ve traveled so far would definitely be Italy but I have a feeling Ireland is going to edge Italy out for top spot. Based on my research of the country anyways. And TripAdvisor is a MUST when planning trips. I use it for everything!

    • After a few months in India you begin to learn it pretty quickly, that and your visa number too!. You have to write in on two separate forms for every hotel/hostel here.
I agree TripAdvisor is where it’s at!

  3. I love my Kobo too :) China is definitely a place for a guided visit, I’d agree with that. I’m doing a travel series on China on my site where every other week or so I post what it’s like to visit China if you’re interested.
