Thursday Things

I thought I’d add a new series to the blog. I shall call it Thursday Things. There will be five things on the list in relation to the topic. This week it will be “Things I don’t watch on TV.” Feel free to play along!

1. Veronica Mars. Apparently it’s a big deal that there’s a movie version coming. I never watched the show, so I’m really wondering what the big fuss is.

2. Dr. Who. Is it even a TV show? Or a movie? Or … ? This is how much I don’t know about it.

3.  Biggest Loser. The last thing I want to watch is a punch of people being yelled at by Jillian Michaels for an hour.

4. The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Does anyone actually take this show seriously, or do they just like the train wreck of wine-drunk women sobbing because “their man” is on a date with other woman? They need to take a lesson from the Brown’s from Sister Wives.

5. Game of Thrones. The genre really just doesn’t appeal to me, but from what I gather, it may be a little overrated. Especially when I hear about people making a fuss over the way the series or season or whatever ended, even though it was the same as in the book it’s based off of.

Your turn!

  1. Doctor Who is a favorite of mine, but it takes a particular kind of person! It’s a brittish sci-fi TV show (with movies) but it is really good. I’ve never seen Veronica Mars either and cannot watch/get into Game of Thrones, Bachelor/Bachelorette and Biggest looser.

  2. The only one I disagree on is Game of Thrones. That show is so damn good. And I have not read the books so when crazy things happen in the show I’m not expecting it. It’s also a show that Eric is equally obsessed with (though he has read the books) so it’s fun that we watch it together and discuss it.

I couldn’t agree more on the Bacheor/Bachelorette. I cannot handle that show. How do people watch it? Yeesh.

  3. V. Mars is awesome – I don’t know, it’s just this dark, cheeky series. Plus Kristen Bell is adorable.

And I love the Bachelor/Bachelorette because it’s good, mindless entertainment lol. But totally do not take that crap seriously!

  4. We just started watching Dr. Who after Christmas (I got Nathan the first “modern” series as a Christmas gift) – it took awhile to get into, and just when I was starting to like it, there was a new doctor, who I’m still getting used to … It’s a little bit weird, but I make Nathan watch the Gilmore Girls with me so I suppose it’s only fair that I watch Dr. Who with him. Next, I’ll make him watch Everwood. Or Heartland … I used to watch the Biggest Loser (while chowing down on junk food!) but listening to people get yelled at gets old after awhile. I’ve never seen any of the others you mentioned.
